I didn't think this would have any form of leak before release. How the hell did that happen?

Also, apparently iTunes preorder will get you bonus tracks... grr, how annoying. There is a reason I buy CDs! Because I like plastic.
I just wanna get out,

I'll get you some bonus tracks for your birthday.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Bummer, the whole thing actually leaked and it's now floating on the net. Don't be dumb!

I believe demonoid torrent has Raine Maida's CD in full, but I'm unable to check it out as Canadian access is restricted. If it is true, could someone please go and check and download, then post it here? Much appreciated. Thanks

Doesn't mean I won't buy it though, you know? Dumb as in don't download if you don't buy.

Well who on here does that anyway?
I have the leaked album. But I'm going to buy it too.

And...what do you think of it?

I've read a couple of reviews and they're not good ones. I'm so tempted to buy the album off ITunes but with offchance the magazine I occasionally write for gets a copy of the CD and therefore, let me have the copy for free and get paid to review it...I think I'll hold out for a while longer.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

I know no one here would do that because everyone here is great.

I personally really like the album. I am slightly upset that he reused the EP songs, but I think that of the EP songs he did a really good job of taking Earthless (one of the best songs) up a notch by making it more full in a re-master of volume (the hymn behind the chorus is more pronounced and the violin at the end is beautiful) . One Second Chance is the same, but Careful What you Wish For and Sex, Love, Honey have additions to them in music and some lyrics too (he did a lot of volume re-mastering so you can hear once background sounds more clearly which adds to the fullness effect).

Of the new stuff, I think Rat Race is a beautiful example of Raine's ability to blend rhythms and beats into a song like he does in live stuff. Confessional could very well be the biggest hit for Raine in a long, long time. It's just put together so well. China Doll is beautiful, and it really touches your heart. The Snake and the Crown is good too, but it doesn't feel like a song. Every time I hear it, the ending breakdown is what sells me on it. His metaphors in it are pretty simple, but you get it too which is good. It's just a weird song. The Less I Know is a great song, but personally he could have sung it better. Jared Paul is a good addition to the song and I have no problem with him. Chantal makes a lot of appearances in a background kind of why - she fills in behind Raine a lot, but it's not bad. It needs more listens, but I personally think solo Raine is really good. There's a very real, almost creepy vibe to it too which makes you want to pay attention. I think the vibe comes from of his synth-sounding stuff.

Edit: I also call this the LALA cd. Raine sings LALA in like every song at some point.

No one here would do what? Download it and then not buy it?

I for one would and if I deem it worthy, I'll buy it. If not, whats a guy going to do?

Yeah, I think it's good to download something first to see if you like it enough to shell out money to buy it. If I don't like it, I'm going to delete the songs anyway. I'd hate to put out 15-20 bucks on something that sucks.

I've done that before...

Having an album downloaded first makes buying it very anti-climatic.
I generally decide whether something's worth buying based on a couple of songs, and what I know about the artist.

I like it a lot. I'm disappointed that that song he played live on the radio (that he only had about a minute and a half of finished) wasn't on there - I have it labeled as "The More I Learn" from whoever I downloaded it from on here. I wish that was finished and on there because I absolutely love it.

Otherwise, I pretty much agree with Teedus. It's a good album. I'll definitely shell out the money for it.

I generally don't like downloading OLP's music before the album hits because I love the climax of opening the shrink wrap and listening to it for the first time. But this CD I just couldn't help myself. And I did it with HiPT too because my dad burned it for me as a surprise. I put off listening for a long time but I finally caved. If I'd waited until it came out in stores, I would have been really disappointed. Sometimes it's just better to hear it first.

Yeah. I've pre-ordered it on itunes for the bonus tracks and asked HMV to order one (they have none on order so you see how limited this release is). I hope that minute song is one of the bonus. Anyone know if it's okay to post lyrics yet?
