I am a big fan of the first version of the chorus we heard:
Don't leave me waiting
The wolf is already at my door
He's run out of patience
I gave him my blood but he wants more
And I don't belong
I don't belong here anymore
There's a wolf outside my door
The second version was simplified (removed references to the wolf and blood lines and replaced them with repeating lines) and was not as strong, but the overall sound was still nice.
Now how knows, maybe some of it still remains, we don't know. If it's gone though, then I think it will weaken the song substantially.
Disagree, the original chorus may have had *ok* lyrics but the delivery just wasn't there. Read those lyrics, seriously, then listen to how Raine sings them. I can't hear any urgency. Henhouse however Raine contributes to the frantic theme both lyrically AND vocally. His voice in this version ACTUALLY SUITS THE FRANTIC NATURE OF THE SONG.
The Wolf had an absolutely terribly boring chorus, the epitome of "boring 2000s OLP". (Musically, they are tight on this track but Raine is so boring) Henhouse actually sounds like he's trying, and means the lyrics.
