How I rank the albums...

Spiritual Machines
Naveed
Clumsy
Gravity
Happiness

I'm not ready to rank HIPT yet but It's safe to say for me personally its easily one of their best records. I think they did a nice job mixing the old school olp sound with the new sound, the lyrics are simpler but they dont lose any meaning..And I love the guitar work on this album.

I haven't heard the CD yet so I don't know. right now I say Spiritual Machines is their best CD.. If this cd is better then that one then I will think it is their best

All I will say is I am glad to see OLP become the Rock band I always knew they could be..

It was surprise more than anything. I'd heard of fans not ranking SM very high (though I don't understand that opinion), but this thread is the first I've heard people saying that Happiness is their least favourite.

Definitly odd. Most people would agree SM is one of their strongest albums, same with Happiness.

Hah, but seeing it rated last is some people opinions is just weird. I can see it being second or third, but last??

I know music is subjective, but I think overall SM is definitly better then Gravity. General consensus would say that as well.

Same here, SM and Happiness are hands down my favorites.

HIPT is my third favorite album. Theres just something about SM that makes it so special, it's got this feel to it.

Clumsy, Naveed, and Gravity are all kind of tied with me. I like them all equally. But theyre missing something that SM and happiness have.

Yup, I definitly prefer Clumsy abit over Naveed and Gravity.

the only thing with naveed, for me, is that I really like about 4 songs from the album (naveed, starseed, birdman, julia) but the rest just doesnt do it for me,

The same thing with Gravity, I like a few songs, but the rest I dont care for.

Haha, and ya, Im named after the song, it used to be one of my favorites.

Spiritual Machines is pretty much perfect. Happiness doesnt grab me the way the other albums do..(including gravity). Naveed..is about as awesome of a debut album as you can get..its intense from track 1-11. HIPT is looking like my 3rd or 4th favorite at the moment..Spiritual Machines and Naveed are locks at #1 and 2.

P.S. If you don't think Under Zenith is one of OLP'S best songs..you suck.

Clumsy is God.

Everything on that album is so quirky and yet so wicked cool. And I love how the whole album gives you this really eerie paranoid vibe.

More thoughts on why I think Clumsy is so great now that you've all got me thinking about it: There has never been a more frantic album so full of the nervous energy that I think is the OLP signature sound. It's also not afraid to be imperfect, there are a couple of songs on there (the ones that aren't the singles) that when you listen to initially aren't immediately pleasing unlike their albums Happiness... and so forth (from there they really mellow out to the more catchy happier sound), yet they're so full of all these quirks and oddities and just the sheer energy of the band, that makes it ultimately more memorable.

If anything OLP should have done after SM, they should have went back to their roots. Thats just my opinion though.

I think it would have been even better if they just packaged Naveed differently, with a new title, and put it on shelves. That would be the most awesome prank in the entire world. Plus, if it leaked, nobody would think it had, they'd be like, "Some ass is spreading a fake leak that just has Naveed in it. Ugh."

Oh, that would be so cool.
