Well it's good to see that i'm no longer the only one disapointed with OLP's direction. But i can honestly say i've gotten past the anger now. I regard OLP as a band that had some really good albums in the past, but they're no longer on pedestal for me. It's obvious that OLP have really changed. And to be honest i don't think it's just Bob Rock. I think it's a great many things: Family, Money, Popularity...etc. But most of all i suspect that OLP may have lost much of that youthful creative passion. It's ussually the way it goes if you look at earlier albums. Not to mention the whole music business is drastically diffrent then the early 90's. They're just a band past it's climax now and on the way down, and we just can't expect everything to be great anymore.
as for the Anti-Avril, i admit i used to be, but really you can't falut her anymore. Her new matrial really is respectable, esspecially if you consider her age, she's younger then Raine and Chantal were when they started.

I haven't tottally given up on them they're just no longer better then everyone else in my eyes anymore. I'm really indiffrent to when the new album comes out, i've found a lot of other young bands to be excited over.
And i'm just bringing it up because of late it seems like lots of what's good in rock today seemed to have Brenden's name on it

raine going off and doing something different has nothing to do with the band's sound. they've simply evolved, as many other bands have. U2, pearl jam, oasis, all of these bands have continued to evolve and change. growth is necesary, without it they'd end up being Creed! i don't think the world is ready for that. gravity has many traits that could be found on their older stuff, it was just a little too polished, but ti's still decent. i'm not prepared to give up on the band just because they released ONE bad C.D (i wouldn't even go as far as calling it bad, maybe mediocre).
and i don't think that the band would have used Brendan as their producer for Gravity because they were probably just trying to get away from the sound on SM and Hapiness...
