Definately. When I first heard Naveed/Life, I thought the guy was amazing. However, I've since grown weary of his messy solos (and by messy I mean uncontrolled, not like Mike's "messy" solos ala IAH?), "in your face" simple riffs and catchy - almost to the point of annoyance, but not quite - lead guitar.

Hopefully he'll show us something new on the next album.

I haven't read through this, but I think they should dust off some songs off Clumsy and Happiness that haven't been done in awhile.

I do have a feeling you may see Car Crash pop up cause I remember Steve saying he wanted to do it.

Here is my take on this setlist thing
They will probably do (on a real tour) 6-7 songs off the new CD,
Gravity(Innocent, BBTS & SOT)
SM( AYS)
Happiness-IAH & OMA
Clusmy-Clumsy, 4AM, SD
Naveed( Starseed, Birdman and Naveed)

they seem to leave the more popular songs from the CD before in the set. It would be nice if they could maybe, just maybe do some of the older songs not done in a while.

How about they just rotate some songs in and out? Like, no one needs to hear the same 16 shows every single night. There's no excuse if they don't have a good amount of variance this year.

And with that said, we'll be lucky to get 22 different songs in an entire tour where they play 19 songs a show.

that is all ggod, but only a handful of bands do that.

I agree with you. they should have maybe 25 songs(10-15 done at every show) and rotate 15 more.

U2 did that on their last tour. It was something like 5 idfferent set list with some varitey. That would be cool if they did that.

I don't care either way actually cause each show is different. But as we have said in the past, with the exception of Diehards not many people go to mulitply OLP shows. If it bothered them they wouldn't continue to go.

Meh, this is the reason I really started not liking OLP in the first place. I'm surprised you still like them Gail. It's just disgusting to go to five shows in a row, and the one change they make in the show is switching "Story About A Girl" with "Thief" for one show. The other four shows had the same exact set list.

That is what I like to call pathetic.

But, you go to see them play what they want. Not what you or anyone else does. Besides, you're the one who saw five live shows in a row, what did you expect?

For them to not fucking suck.

I expected them to not have the same exact show, with the same solo, Birdman dance, and everything else placed at the same exact time that they did each and every show. It's called variety. Bands that have any talent and respect for their fans have it.

Why should I stop liking OLP cause you don't like them anymore. There are alot of people on here who still love this band and seeing them play.

BTW. I don't know where you went. but OLP have never played 5 nights straight. 3-4 tops. If I was you, by the 3rd show I would of seen the songs were the same not even go to the other 2. As the person said. You choose to go to those shows. Nobody forced you.

You shouldn't call OLP talentless cause they do the same set. Most bands do the same set. That is just downright insulting for no reason at all.

The only OLP show I saw last year contained roughly the same setlist for the entire tour with 3 Doors Down. Even when they headlined last year, they really didn't mix anything up. Look at the bootlegs we have from last year, or even the tour archive on R&S. All the same things. There music catalog is large enough now to be able to rotate songs nightly. 5 albums, 41 songs, Out of Here, WTSOYF, Walking in Circles, Not Afraid, Talk is Cheap, No Warning, Trapeze, Whatever, Our Time is Fading, Eternal Life, Needle and the Damage Done, Dear Prudence, Teardrop, MLK, Drive, Imagine, Mona Lisa, and Sleeping In. Tell me that isn't enough songs to create a regularly rotated set list. I love OLP, and I'll go to there shows even if they decide to play Willie Nelson's greatest hits, but you can't argue that they shouldn't change up their setlist on a regular basis. Narf :P

Hell, if they threw in a cover song I'd be happy too. Anything beyond the same songs each and every night. It's painful.

yeah, hell i went 13 hours away from michigan saw them headline in south carolina, and got the same damn set i had in michigan a year before and i hear it that summer 4 different times....the only slight difference was a few new songs. The fact that they had barely changed it in a year made me sick, the state theater show was okay, but i have to go all the way back to toledo 5-22-01, to get a great olp show and a deifferent set.

i know i'm a bit late but i personally love Steve's extened guitar bits. OLP has always needed more epic/guitar driven songs. Mike did an amazing job, but OLP still always seemed to stay fairly short and structured.

I agree they need some variety. I can understand where they're coming from wanting to make sure that every person who goes to an OLP show, no matter where, will get a great experience. I guess there way of ensuring that is to make sure they don't change things up, making it unfair for some fans. I know thats a poor excuse if it is in fact the reason, which it more than likely is not, but thats the best I can figure out as to why they don't switch things up more often.

Like Alan, I was a tad annoyed seeing them 3 times during the gravity tour (all the shows at least 3 months apart) and getting the same songs for each show, except for the one show where they threw in In Repair. One night they mixed up the first 4 songs so that way they opened with Naveed then SD, but after that it went back to the normal set. It's just hard to support a band when they continue to play the same songs night and and night out.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

i might be alone in this...but ilike steve, but i think that its unfair to compare steve to mike because mike didn't really 'drive a song' like his stuff was more in the background to provide rhythm and add to the sound. but steve can carry a song, like if raines's having a bad night (which he has been having more and mroe lately) steve can come in and carry something like WTSOYF. they're completely different artists
