Dallas show - + pix

Post by fluttergirl »

that was one of the BEST fucking shows I've EVER been to! and I've been to a LOT of shows in my 28 years, kids. I wish I could remember the setlist, but I was too busy singing my ass off. Some highlights:

Raine climbed on top of one of the speakers and STAGEDIVED into the crowd. doesn't he have a bad back? man, I wish I could've been one of the people who caught him. *cough*

the last song was 4 AM and he didn't sing it at all. Raine coaxed the entire crowd into singing it for him. he held the mic out toward the audience and we all did a fabulous job. it was a surreal, special moment. the entire band stopped playing and Jer stood up as we finished the last chorus. man, I had a great time.

we hung around after the show to meet the guys, and I'm so glad we did. I got to meet all of them. they were *so* nice! everyone was telling Raine that the show was awesome and he was sincerely thankful for the comments. I grabbed his hand and told him it was one of the absolute best shows I'd ever seen and he squeezed my hand and said "thanks. thanks a lot." I was touched. really. and not in a "my god, this guy is truly gorgeous" kind of way.

oh yeah, I told Jer that everyone here was calling him Pookie. especially this guy named Alan from Detroit.

give me a few minutes to resize the pics of meeting the guys and I'll post them. :)

first of all, here's a blurry pic of me with my OLP tickets I had just won from the radio station. I was probably standing about 15 feet from Jeremy and Steve. woo!

my husband hasn't quite mastered our digital camera yet.

it was after 2 in the morning and I'm not used to staying up that late on a Tuesday night. in order to preserve what little vanity I have left (hey, I'd just been in a sweaty room with hundreds of of sweaty people) I've blurred my funky faces out of a couple of pictures. hey, my pictures, my decision. nyah!

here's me and Pookie.

this is a picture of Jer and two girls we met while waiting for their highnesses to grace us fans with their presence.

the girl on the left is actually a CM member, but I can't remember her name. sorry! the girl on the right is her friend Rachel. Rachel and I were going to tackle the guys as they came out of the building. her friend was a little more reserved.

I didn't get my picture taken with Duncan. I suck. here's a pic of Rachel & her friend (one of our CM cohorts) with our favourite bassist.

me and the loveable Steve. I look like so much crap, but I was (and still am) tired.

Steve was awesome. I shook his hand and said "welcome to the band." he laughed and said thanks. is no one but me aware that I AM the fifth member of OLP?? jeez. :freak:

again with the almost-smile. I blurred my face again. deal with it, mmmkay?

may I just mention again how frigging gorgeous this guy is? it's one thing to see him on stage and on tv, but to shake his hand and put your arm around him and.... whoah, getting a little carried away there. sorrrrry. he does have the most beautiful eyes, though. ok, I'm done.

last picture! this is of my husband, Zack, and Raine. notice that Raine is giving a big smile in this picture? we girls were all grousing about that after Raine got on the bus. when we got home Zack told me Raine was smiling in his picture because he was grabbing Raine's ass. he cracks me up!

I'm off to bed. if anyone else went to the show tonight, please post with your thoughts & pictures. I'd love to see them.

one last funny moment before I hit the sack. as we were waiting around the back of the building for the band a couple of groupie/hootchie/blonde girls pranced up to the back door. the security guys must have told them that their kind wasn't welcome inside. they tried to argue with them for a few minutes and then they huffed their way back down the stairs and stalked off while flicking everyone off. I about wanted to die, it was so funny.

good times... good times.

I wish I knew! they got my email address so I could send them the high resolution copies of the pictures, so I'll probably find out tomorrow. I really should have gotten her name. damn me.

oh hell, I can't sleep. I'm still too wound up.

he took it off after the show, but Raine was wearing a tie on stage. it struck me as kind of odd, but very neat. I didn't notice his new belt buckle, though.

they played one of my favourite songs, Thief. Raine told the story about the 12 year old girl he'd befriended before she passed away. it was really touching.

I swear, I'm going to sleep now. I guess I'll have to compile all this and submit it to olp.cc tomorrow.

love.you.all.

Yeah, Raine wears a horribly tied tie, which is funny. The most important question here is, did you ask them to play Blister? It's all about Blister...
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

yes dahling, I told Jeremy that you wanted to hear Blister.

another funny thing from last night was when this transient guy got really loud and was running around trying to get the guys to sign his hand. I wish I would have taken a picture of him trying to get Jer to give him a high-five. it was classic.

there seemed to be a lot of hardcore fans there last night. I asked a few people if they frequented CM, but most hadn't even heard of it. we are so, as Susan would say, "l337."

a group of girls standing near me were overheard commenting "did you notice that Raine wasn't wearing his wedding ring?!? did you?? huh??" ha. yeah, actually I did notice. damn me. :freak:

after the show Jer rushed past everyone to get on the bus and change his clothes. c'mon, we'd love him even if he were sweaty and stinky.

btw - I did get to touch his hair. I can be SO discreet when I want to be. :freak:

did no one else go to this show??? dammit, people. where are you?

It's all about Blister...woooo. I am sooo calling Jeremy "pookie" when I see him next, just to keep up with the incredible pressure from the media.

one last funny thing from last night, I swear. when we (Alena, Rachel, and I) approached Raine about getting some pictures with him he made a funny. Rachel said "can she (me) take a picture of us with her digital camera?" Raine: "it's a digital camera? no, sorry. no digital cameras." all of our faces must have fallen because he grinned. Rachel: "no digital cameras?" (at this point I was ready to start arguing about how superior my digital camera was than most of the film jobbies everyone else had. Duncan and Jeremy had both commented on my camera, dammit!) Raine then laughed at us and said "I'm just kidding. digital cameras are fine." *collective relieved sigh from all of us girls.*

 <---- Raine
:freak: <---- us girls

ah yes, the CM member whose name I forgot is Alena! her member name is "waited4olp." she said she was going to check out the site more often. sweeeeeet.
