I am fairly certian he is saying " for the good an empty obvious noose" for the good may be for the ghost but I am 99 % sure it's "an empty obvious noose"

I will preface this review. My favorite record is Gravity, so my opinion will most likely be different then yours. :)

All You Did - Hate the title, way too sappy. I like the song but with newer OLP music. I am completely skipping it. Kind of like SOT. 6/10

Dreamland- Love the musical intro before Raine starts. Song seems a little too slow at the begin for me before first chorus. Almost a little country-ish. Love the Oh-ya Oh-ya in the middle of the song. I think my expectations were way too high for this song with OLP saying how important the song was for them. 8/10

Monkey Brains - Cant believe I am rocking out to a song about butterflies. Love everything about this song. But I don't think it would make a very good single (radio play). The tempo slowdown at the end of the song, is one of the best things they have done. Awesome 9/10

The End Is Where We Begin - love this song. First time I heard it was a youtube video from Calgary. Raine sounds great in this song. "Here I am, waiting for one last chance..." Awesome 9/10

Escape Artist - Great work by the strings in this song. This song has a great build to it. Starting slow and picking up the pace by the end. Looking forward to finally reading these lyrics. Good Song 8.5/10

Refuge - After about a million listens still not sure how I feel about this song. Be an interesting song to see how they preform it live. Fav part "The moon strikes one" love the imagery. 7.5

Never Get Over You - Hate the title. Love the idea that I was completely wrong with the title of the record. When I heard Burn, Burn...I thought angry "BURN b*tch BURN". With the title coming partly from this song, the way Raine says it, is almost aplogetic for burning the past and moving on. 8/10

White Flags - Nice song but again my expectations were too high for this song. Love the way he sings "Cra-zzzzzy" and "la-zzzzy". 8/10

Signs of Life - Surprise song for me, first listen...didnt think much of it. But its has definitely grown on me. "sound of quiet is defeaning" Definitely the slowest paced song sung but I really like it. Cant get it out of my head. 8.5/10

Paper Moon - Havent listen to it much since it was the only song we could hear off the record that wasnt AYD. Thank god for this song. 8.5/10

My list
1. The End
2. Monkey Brains
3. Paper Moon
4. Signs of Life
5. Escape Artist
6. Dreamland
7. White Flags
8. Never Get Over You
9. Refuge
10. All You Did

My wife asked me what I was listening to. I said "OLP ofcourse." She says, "That doesnt sound at all like Raine." I thought it was a very interesting comment. And no she didnt say this after hearing the Gravity record.

My mother/friends said the same thing. I think Raine's voice has evolved so much over the years that it sounds nothing like his 1997 voice anymore. With Gravity, you could still hear his grungy voice somewhere in there.

For US fans who want to hear the songs again (as they've been taken from YouTube), AOL's having a Listening Party.

I am confused. The live stuff the fans put up is still there. It is late now( since the songs come out tomorrow). I would of sent you the link I had with the songs. . Still can't wait till I get the cd in my hands. I am convinced when it comes to OLP I sold my soul.

My favorite is The End Is Where We Begin.. I also love Escape Artist, Paper Moon( Steve really shines on that track  ), Refuge and White Flag..I even emailed Steve about it and got the nicest email back..He worked really hard to get here..it shows.

I wasn't talking about live videos. I was talking about the actual studio songs. Strong Alibi had uploaded them on YouTube since only Canadians could listen to the MSN Sympatico release, but had to take them down. So I posted that saying that if there's any US fans who want to hear the songs again without having to get them off a torrent site, you can listen to them there until you get the CD tomorrow.

MOL-bite my head off next time..

Live, studio-either way you can hear the songs. I was not aware they were up on Youtube cause I never saw them there. I got them off a blog of a person reviewing the cd..

I am loving this cd alot. They did a great job..

I wasn't trying to be rude. If I came off that way, then I apologize. I was just explaining what I meant.

k..

I wish I could hear the T.O show tonight. I do not have access to the computer after 7:30PM.

I know the station is not playing it here. I think they are on Wednesday morning though..
