Yeah, what's the difference.

i agree. even i'm suprised at all the negativity, especially since i never thought there was anything wrong with the right stuff to begin with, except that it apparently reminds a lot of people of the new kids on the block. how about we try to keep the "zomg this album's gonna suck!" until we actually hear the entire album, hmm?

Glad to see I'm not the only one left on here who's sick of the bitching. After being told over and over again "We're entitled to our opinions!" it gets irritating that it's now all we see on here. Bitch bitch bitch. The album hasn't even been released and we don't even have a studio version of the song. Lay off until we hear something, will you?? Jeez!

im going to join the anti-negativity party...its really depressing
i think a lot of people have set extremely high standards in their head about the new album and are just ending up disappointing themselves...the album has no chance before you have even heard it yet...just give it a chance...and if you dont like it...then you will always have the first 4 arnold lanni produced albums to listen to...no one can ever take those away...so enjoy them
i love the new stuff...i have listened to the songs over and over and everyone i know thinks im crazy cause i love OLP so much...but i dont care one bit...their music means something to me and thats all that matters

Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?
Is there anything worth dying for?
Amen. If you don't like the new stuff, play those 4 oldies out. You're right, they are great. Not liking the new stuff isn't the end of the world, it just means it's time for you to find other music out there you can enjoy. The band isn't making an album just for you, regardless of what you have convinced yourself to believe. This time around they recorded music they enjoyed creating. If you don't want to join the bus ride, hop off and catch another one or ride a horse. Just don't beat the horse into the ground.

It's not that a lot of people are bringing negativity, it's that they're uncertain of how this album's going to turn out. Not everyone's going to like it, just like if we were all to list our favourite albums in order, they'd all differ because we all have different opinions and tastes. From what I've heard, which doesn't tell me much because it's been a bit of live stuff of a song that could be unfinished from their new album, I don't like it. That doesn't mean that the album's going to suck or that there aren't going to be decent or good songs on it, or if that song will be drastically different on the album too and will be a lot better. However, instead of being pumped and confident about the new album, that song doesn't give me that feeling.
It shouldn't be someone's fault for having an opinion that this album might not be their best or for even thinking that this album might not be all that good. everyone has a different first impression and you know what a lot of people do think Raine's voice has changed a lot. I don't give a fuck whether or not you think he can or can't hit the same high notes, you don't know for sure, neither do I, so people who are like "I'm so sick and tired of the negativity!" GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSES! Everyone doesn't have to agree and everyone doesn't have to have an enthusiastic outlook. That's the point of having an opinion. You don't like it? Too bad! The band's not going to be able to cater to everyone's personal choices, they're doing this for themselves, what they feel and love as their best material for a new album.
if someone goes OMG! I'M GONNA LOVE THIS NO MATTER WHAT IT'S LIKE! Well, you're just being dishonest with yourselves, you can't always love absolutely everything in the world and say absolutely everything is great and perfect, just like anything else, bands are capable of having a HIT or a MISS once in a while, it's never going to be all perfect. Once the album's out, then people can say for sure what they think, it's pretty much all speculation right now.

you said what i couldn't formulate.
i have an opinion - i don't like the new stuff.
thanks for alienating me and making me feel unwelcome talking about new olp, everyone!
seriously. i may have a 'negative' view, but i still respect everyone who LIKES the new stuff's opinions too. i don't freak out when everyone else is talking about how they like it. don't freak out because those of us who don't like it talk about it.
it's a two way street. i deal with everyone talking about how much they love the new stuff, so everyone can deal with me (and others) talking about how they don't like the new stuff.
seriously. this is a message board. a place for discussions. and those of us involved in those discussions who have a different opinion from the majority are getting chastised?
way to be open minded.

Yeah, sorry for going a bit overboard earlier, I was honestly just venting about The Right Stuff and wasn't thinking before I wrote... anyway I love the other songs from the album, it's just that particular single that I dislike independently, sorry if I came off as a negative asshole. Not trying to get everyong in a fight here. I'm (believe it or not) still really looking forward to the album.
—Doesn't anybody ever know—

i think everyone should go watch happy go lucky
i must say i agree with both 'sides' of this debate or discussion about discussing. I believe everyone has the right to have an opinion and to express it. Perhaps what people need to work on is how they express it. To be honest i have not re-read page one of this thread to familiarize myself with each persons statements so what I am saying is not directed at any one person.
There are people here who like to be negative about pretty much anything OLP, some in a funny way, others in a harsh way and yet others who state it simply. We could debate the merits of each delivery method but what would that accomplish. I think that new people are often offended by the harsher of the above group, not knowing its 'their way'. For the most part the sharper tongues among us don't mean to sound so rude. (Cue a quick witty comeback from Doc, Sand or Lando
) While most of us find the caustic humor amusing there are people who might feel hurt by it.

i have no problem with people not liking the new stuff. it's fine if you don't, and it's fine for you to state it. i didn't like healthy all that much either. what bothers me is when people say things like, "lolz what'll my friends think when they find out i like this garbage! olp sucks now and their careers are over!" sorry to say, but that's kinda rude. it's as extreme as saying something like, "i'll love olp no matter what they do and anyone who doesn't isn't a true fan!" etc etc

What I meant by the comment about my friend and The Right Stuff was that even she, a person that knows little about the band, thought it was different and weird. I'm not going to be throwing myself off of a bridge if my friends don't like the music I listen to - most don't anyways.
Also, when I said the comment about being bothered by having my classmates singing the Right Stuff, if they do sing to it, I meant that I don't trust their judgement in music. At all. They're the people that are still trying to convince me that Theory of a Deadman doesn't sound like Nickelback and that Nickelback's songs never sound the same.

I actually feel alienated for being happy and excited about this new album specifically because of all this negativity. Since the nay-sayers seem to outnumber those of us who actually are looking forward to this album, I don't see how those of you who are dissing the album can feel alienated.
But that's just my opinion, and since we're all apparently entitled to them, I have no problem expressing it, even if those of you who feel the album is going to suck because of this one single and they'll be so embarrassed to tell their friends they're OLP fans (and yes, that IS what people are saying - go back and read the thread if you don't believe me) think I'm in the wrong.
Also, I don't believe anyone on here is saying OMG I'LL LOVE THE ALBUM NO MATTER WHAT. I love OLP no matter what, that doesn't mean I'm going to worship the album even if it sucks. There IS a difference.
Point of this being, QUIT BEATING THE DEAD HORSE. WE GET IT. YOU DON'T LIKE THE MUSIC. I'M SICK OF SEEING YOUR BITCHING ALL OVER THE PLACE. Last time I checked this was a band supporters site, not a "let's bitch because OLP has changed THE TRAVESTY" site. That doesn't mean we can't say bad things about the music, but when every single time the new album is brought up it's met with whining about how horrible the new music is, I don't see how that's productive to discussion. There are people around here who are excited about the new album and a lot of people on here are acting like that's a bad thing. If all you want to do is bitch about it, maybe you should start your own thread instead of ruining the threads of those who actually want to talk about the new album instead of saying 100 times "This song sucks I'm so embarrassed to be a fan."
But I get it. You have an opinion and are expressing it. Good for you. We all get it. I think it would be nice to be able to talk about the new album without all the negative speculation.
