I've bought so many movies lately. I've taken to buying terrible movies for less than $10 at wal-mart. Now I have an excellent collection of bad DVD's.
The Transporter 2, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Cast Away, 13 Going on 30....Its been fun times.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I love Office Space, so I had high hopes for this.
But holy crap don't waste your time on this piece of garbage.
It's not that bad, it was just done poorly due to major budget constraints for what his vision was... Okay so the story wasn't that witty and the acting wasn't the greatest... but... wait where was I going with this?
Oh yeah never mind it wasn't all that good... it had it's moments and is maybe worth a single viewing, but it's nowhere near as good as Office Space.

I saw Pan's Labyrinth the other day. It was good, but not great. It's a spanish film directed by Guillermo Del Toro the director of Hellboy and subtitled in english. It could have been a really great film, the fantasy parts with the fawn and the crazy creature who puts eyeballs in his hands and the giant toad were all awesome, but most of the film takes place in the real world in I believe World War 2 era Spain and got pretty boring. If the film had more of the fantasy aspect and less of the real world stuff it would have been really good. It was creative and creepy in a way that reminded me of a Tool music video. The movie is pretty gory too. A lot of people get shot, there's some cutting of flesh and a dude who stitches himself up... oh and even a dude who gets his faced smashed in with a bottle until his nose no longer exists and he's dead.... yeah and this is rated 14A in Canada... A fairy tale movie! Craziness yo.

yeah, exactly. there were a few genuinely funny moments, and a couple of scenes where the satire (which should have been the centrepiece of the film but somehow got pushed to the background) showed through. otherwise, kind of a waste.

I saw that last week too.
I was excited to see something spanish with fantasy-stuff, but nobody told me it was a bloody-gory-war-everyone-dies-dead-stabbed-in-the-face type of thing.
I might have liked it a lot better if I'd been warned about that.

I've been debating downloading/renting "The Departed" off the Xbox Live Video Marketplace. Just haven't been in the mood.
