...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.

Even if this is OLP's final 'screw-you' to Sony. It is extremely concerning that they have such utter disregard for their fans as to release crap like this. The band has been very nice to their fans, in certain cases, going out of their way to accommodate us but I am extremely upset with this album. I know that I'm late to the band-bashing party but my girlfriend bought it for me for Christmas and I realized that I haven't really listened to it, and isn't it the purpose of a best-of collection to celebrate the band and its fans? Do we deserve such little after a "decade" of support and adoration. They piece a collection of singles (not even the best songs from their CDs) and throw in a couple of instruments (if that) and announce its release. Forgive me for saying that I could have done the same damn thing with the copy of Sony Vegas on my laptop. The big 'special feature' was available to Rogers customers over a year ago, since then it has circulated the net and was available to fans who really wanted it. Besides that, it isn't even the entire concert!
Ten years has been a long time, in that time we have started and ended relationships, changed schools, graduated, found (new) work, and even found new bands to listen to but this collection does nothing to reward 10-years of fandom and support through such varied experiences. Standing by the band through Gravity was difficult (for some of us) but I find it concerning that most of us are more okay with A Decade than we were with SOT. This collection is supposed to tell us how Our Lady Peace feel about themselves and their fans, I get that they don't think we're anything new.
