The Decade (Our Lady Peace Greatest Hits Album)

Post by Teedus »

At the North Bay Heritage Festival on the weekend, Raine announced that they will be putting out a greatest hits CD in a couple months called "The Decade." Thanks to Jordan and Adam for making sure we were aware of this.

From Rich and Shelly.

:)

Discuss.

Addition music to be included? Apparently Raine said one or two songs, one of which, is going to be Kiss on the Mouth.

1992-2006 = 14 years
1994-2006 = 12 years

decade?

way to count, OLP. way to count.

Maybe for some strange reason, they're starting at Clumsy?

so 1997-2007?

so they can probably fit 15 songs on the cd

so here is my guess at the tracklist:

1. Starseed
2. Naveed
3. Superman's Dead
4. 4 am
5. Clumsy
6. One Many Army
7. Is Anybody Home?
8. In Repair
9. Life
10. Somewhere Out There
11. Innocent
12. Where Are You?
13. Angels/Losing/Sleep
14. Kiss On The Mouth
15. Vampires
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

but it's (supposed to) come out this year!

however, I think Nikki and I figured it out.

Duncan joined the band in 1995, and the last material covered on this CD was released in 2005 (HIPT), so this is really the Decade of Duncan release.

If a studio version of trapeze isn't on this album, I'm going to not kiss, but punch somebody in the mouth.

AGREED!
I can't stand listening to the live version because (a) the sound quality drives me nuts and (b) I HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE DAMN INTRO SPEECH!

Although I really want a studio version of Teardrop too, along with the piano version of Julia included.

I think it is very unlikely that we'll ever get studio versions of any songs that were recorded before 2002 and haven't been released.

But it sounds like you have one of the versions that was more readily available before the hub... have you tried out this one, which does have the speech, kinda, but during the song instead of before, and has the best bridge of any version in my opinion, but unfortunately there were some feedback problems during this performance:

Or this version which is a little bit bass-heavy but otherwise pretty clear, and still has one of the earlier versions of the bridge, and a lyric about clowns chasing Raine:

Or this version which is as they played it during the 1998 tour but is the best recording I have from then, nice and clear:

This we wouldn't see, considering teardrop isn't an OLP song.

Actually they are counting from Clumsy because the Naveed album is in a league of it's own of awesomeness.

They'd just have to re-release the Naveed album with the words "Greatest Hits" under the word Naveed and they'd already have one greatest hits album ready for release.

They've only been on Columbia for 10 years right? Naveed was released on Epic and Relativity originally.

True, but unfortunately I just can't see Raine wanting to put something out that they made with Mike Turner. I think it'd be more likely after OLP leaves Columbia, if Columbia has rights to the recordings, that we would see some old stuff being released then.

It's a long shot, but I hope they include other songs too, not just their singles. Especially Neon Crossing, Julia, Made to Heal and Mafia.
I don't do sigs.
