Agreed. ^ But what else is new when it comes to Sony, though? I know a few casual fans that like strictly the singles and have never really heard anything else. But I'm guessing that these people are not even aware of the release of "A Decade", let alone would they be willing to run out and buy it. After all, if you're a casual fan, chances are you've downloaded all of the songs that you like and would therefore see it to be pointless to buy a greatest hits album of songs that you already "own"... I think the only people who will probably buy this album will be hardcore fans and people who are just getting into OLP and want an overall taste of what the band has to offer.. which is quite sad.

I'd buy it.
Well, I just did, as a hardcore fan.
If I was a moderate fan, and it wasn't really expensive, I'd buy it.
If I was a new fan, and didn't know many songs, I'd buy it.
If I didn't like Our Lady Peace at all, and thought "Hey my sister likes these guys! Christmas is soon!" I'd buy it.

Maybe that's just me, because I like to own cds, and think greates hits are pretty cool. Still though... I'd buy it.

I listen to the acoustic tracks every now and then. I also have Oh Be Joyful, Big City Life and Pony Boy on my ipod, so I hit them in my rotation occasionally too.

As for the DVD, I haven't watched it since I bought it, but I like having high quality versions of all the videos, with (highly entertaining) commentary and all.

It was well worth the $25 for that 3-disc set.

Hum. Seems like that kind of collection would have taken some kind of time or effort. Rad.

I dont really care if you dont like them, but at least they show that they care about the music. I would much rather be a fan of a band that was shitty but cared, then a band that is shitty and doesnt give a damn.

so you are in fact admitting that they do indeed suck copious amounts of ass? if so, bravo. not that you could ever convince me or anyone who likes good music otherwise. they're 'nice' because they're amazed that even though they have no talent whatsoever, and have song titles that are like novels, people actually like them. its an amazing phenomenon.

btw, i'd rather listen to music that is GOOD.

There's no reason to randomly attack bands somebody likes. Besides the fact that musical appreciation is subjective, and it shows a lack of reason if one actually thinks that the only "good" music is the few bands that they approve of, such an argument is entirely pointless due to the simple fact that it will get you nowhere.

Just thought I'd point that out.

And for the record, I don't like My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy, just so you don't assume I'm defending any band(s) in particular.

Ok. Now on to some OLP bashing. If true only the DVD is on Canadian release that sucks.. almost as much as the band.

Esp the singer, drummer, bass player and both lead guitarist(past and present) and anyone else who ever had the unfortunate experience of playing with OLP..

Sarah I love the Matt Good cd. Esp the video part..

I agree with AXTECH on the whole band thing. Not everyone likes the same music. It is not right to insult someone who likes someone you don't. There are plenty of aritst I like my friends don't and vice versa.

That was pointless and completely off topic. We all have different tastes, so please remember that we all enjoy music for different reasons. If you are going to say that a band sucks, how about breaking it down to the fine mechanics of what makes them an usatisfactory band in your opinion. Do you not enjoy the lyrics, does the drummer not keep time well, is there too much bass, too much overdubbing, not enough falsetto, etc? If you break down why you dislike it, you'll get a little more respect from folks around here.

Now, back to the Decade discussion. I, like many others, think that Matt Good's greatest hits compilation was a great example of how it should be done. Again, this one is average at best. A page or so back I broke down why I feel that way. Sony no longer cares about this band, and hopefully this completes their relationship together.

Well, that was the one my cd store had, so I didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

It's being advertised on TV and radio around here and some stores are waiting for more after selling out.
