I just heard Better Than Here, and I gotta say both of these "new" songs are quite good. It makes my mind reel a bit, because even though I was sort of satisified with the last album, I know they have something better in them still. Not saying there aren't newish songs better than these two, but these feel just so much more organic. Maybe that's why they were included. And maybe it's a sign of things to come if they do more albums. Maybe. Hopefully. Yes.

I haven't heard the new mixes of the older songs, but the idea sort of sits with me badly. If it's just a simple remastering or some slight tinkering, I guess that's okay... as long as it's not a George Lucas treatment. Or the Weezer "Let's change a song for the worse even though 500,000 copies of a previous version have already shipped" treatment.

Yeah my sarcasm was to the extreme...

Instead of the hub you can go to torrentspy.com and type in our lady peace and the decade will pop up...

But I dont condone this. Piracy is bad. It's like charging 5 dollars for popcorn at a theatre.

I would be nice however if someone would be kind enough to upload "Better Than Here" somewhere so we can all enjoy before getting A Decade...

Does anyone else find it weird that in many of these greatest hits and bonus tracks that Raine manages to work in references to either the sun, stars, or a satellite?

FWIW, I don't think I've ever met an OLP fan who owns a telescope.

Here's what I made of the Better Than Here Lyrics, I was wondering if anyone heard anything differently, and also if anyone wanted to fill in that nice little bit that I don't have a clue for, I'm definitely loving the song though, can't wait for another version of it

I looked, I looked up to the sky
Your face was dawned in black and white
Tonight, we're stuck inside a line
The fear is we won't get out alive
(?), it's in the air
and yeah, it's getting thin

Where are you going
As fast as you can run?
Where are you going?
Do you hide behind the sun?
Stay down low, and stay down where you are
Where are you going?
Is it better
than here?

The truth, oh we turned into a joke
and it's true, I'd give anything to hope
Tonight, tonight I stay
But you, you slip away

Where are you going
As fast as you can run?
Where are you going?
Do you hide behind the sun?
Stay down low, and stay down where you are
Where are you going?
Don't let them come after you

I trip trip trip in vain
and lie lie lie to me
I trip trip trip in fear
I'd like to get away
and like you like you do
I'd like to be with you
I'd like to live up there
But I wake up and I
wake up and I
wake up and I
Wake up and I'm here

Tonight, I am stuck here
and tomorrow I, I disappear
Where are you going
As fast as you can run?
Where are you going?
Do you hide behind the sun?
Stay down low, and stay down where you are
Cause it's better than
Oh it's better than we thought

By the way, haha I JUST noticed the quick reply button said quicky, I just thought it was the most brilliant thing in the world (Haha, just thought I'd share though it probably makes me look like an idiot lol)

I don't know if anyone's noticed this yet but on the Canadian verison of iTunes, there's a "Bonus Tracks" version of "The Decade" that has live tracks of Innocent, Angels, and Naveed that are labelled as "Live In Montreal".

EDIT: About the "Better Than Here" lyrics, they're in the discography section of the DVD

so...i downloaded a decade, solely to hear better than here.

....i do not like it. at all. it's horrid. it's absolutely all over the place. raine's voice just grates on my ears. it doesn't seem to match the music at all. this is not something a band that's been around for over ten years should be releasing, even for a demo. it's got potential...the instruments are fine and dandy, but raine..just..ouch. bad. i'm so glad i downloaded and didn't actually shell out any money just to get this "new" song.

Haha, whoops, definitely didn't know that, or bother to think of it though I knew there were lyrics on the DVD, but I'm another that downloaded it just to hear Better Than Here, so no DVD for me...I definitely plan on buying it when it comes out in the U.S. though, just out of pure love for the band
Every line I've crossed has come undone, everything I know is somehow wrong.

Ah, good. Duncan mentioned that in the live chat last week as a possibility.

US Release of The Decade

Post by mikeymc19 »

So... none of the major retailers (Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart) in the US have The Decade in this weeks sales circulars. I guess I'll have to wait and see if the US version comes w/ the DVD and if it's on sale anywhere!!!
