The Decade (Our Lady Peace Greatest Hits Album)
gargh i have to agree with sonya about 17.99-cds are actually CHEAP. especially if you go to zulu or something and get something ultra rare and whatnot. most of "mainstream" cds i buy for under/around 15.99 or if i buy stuff used it's usually around 10 bucks.
you know what annoys me SO MUCH is when you buy say, a double album for 20+ bucks, then the next month it goes on sale for 9.99. it's happened to me SO MANY FRIGGING TIMES.

I don't really think that a greatest hits album is going to get them any more fans at this point. It seems like bad timing to me. They are obviously mid-way through a new sound and identity with the band and to try to mash the old with the new together and claim its all the same stuff. Which is pretty silly to me.
If I was a fan of the band because of ALS and thought they had a cool coldplay sound, I'd be happy to find gravity and some older songs from SM and Happiness but I dont think I would enjoy some of the grung sounding songs from Clumsy. Its a completly different genre. Its like tryig to market apples with oranges. At this point they are just two different things. Thats all.
If they did do lots of fan oriented stuff. Artwork, behind the scenes, bonus b-side songs, remixes or acoustic versions....then they would probably sell a lot more in my opinion. I think casual fans would rather buy something from the band they used to like years ago re-vamping some of the older stuff or to appeal to fans that arnt into the new sound as much and would obviously appeal to newer fans as well.
To be honest, I think what they are doing seems half-assed and not well excuted.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

$17.99 US is right around the average price in all stores anywhere near everywhere I've ever lived. But I buy a lot of mine from yourmusic.com now -- yay $5.99 per CD.
Woah, seriously? I don't think I've ever seen a CD for $17.99. Perhaps at Borders because they're overprice, but even then it would be $15.99 at most. Wow. I think the average CD price here is 9.99 - 12.99.
Yeah seriously. Borders is only slightly more expensive than anywhere else around here, maybe $1 more so CD's there are like $17.99 or $18.99 instead of $16.99 or $17.99
I think I paid about $20 each for Spiritual Machines and Kid A and that was the best price you could find around here at the time for those albums.

What kind of car does he drive?
And if you say a New VW Bug or a Prius I'm going to be very very upset.
er. i don't really remember. that's not the kind of thing i notice.
it was big. suv-like. silver (i think).

Ok an SUV is allowable.
You can't be a rock star and be seen in some eco-friendly, whale saving, tree hugging car like a Prius.

It's all about image.
You can't go to a Marilyn Manson concert then after the show watch him climb into a yellow beetle and watch him drive off.
That may work for like some emo chick like Ani DeFranco but not for anyone in a rock band.
Maybe that'll be my first question to ask when I get on OLP.nein
