After being told about this thread, I figured I'd come read. And since you're all so completely off-base (seriously... so far off it's ridiculous), I'm going to contribute. Then maybe you can all let the issue drop and move on.

First off, you're all completely wrong about why I left. I didn't leave because I "can't co-exist" with certain members of this community. I honestly could not care less about what some random jerk says about me on a messageboard, or in real life for that matter. I've never given a crap about what people I don't care about say about me (if I did, I probably wouldn't be alive anymore... elementary school was not good to Nikki). I left because the people I consider some of my closest friends (hey yeah, real friends that I've spent lots of time in real life with! Apparently that makes me pathetic, though, just because I met them online) did absolutely nothing when I was being verbally attacked. I've always been one to stand up for my friends, and I expect the same in return. I don't think a single person here would enjoy it if their friends stood by idly (or in some cases apparently privately asking bystanders if this is bad enough to get the person kicked out... yes, Matt, that really hurt) while they were being maliciously attacked by some random weirdo they barely know. I almost left all of the OLP communities entirely because I was so hurt by my friends' actions, but I didn't simply because I'd have nothing to do all day (plus as you all know, I'm a huge OLP fan... duh). So I left the place that reminded me of the acquiescence, and ATTEMPTED to forget about it. Unfortunately, nobody seems to want to let that happen, so I'm constantly reminded and questioning some of my friendships. Thanks for that.

I've made no intentionally anti-CM remarks on BBTS, aside from trying to explain to people why I left and defend myself because apparently it's not allowed around here to make a decision for yourself. Why exactly am I not allowed to leave? Because I posted a lot when I was here? Nobody's stopping any of you from picking up my slack.

And, yes, I post on BBTS. I also post on .net and the CC and the OLP MySpace forums. Why isn't anyone complaining about those existing? I've always posted on every OLP community I've found (hey, guess what, including the OLD BBTS.com... remember that? It was a forum, too! Nobody seemed to have a problem with it then). Nothing's changed, and there's absolutely no reason to whine about BBTS existing just because "OMG NIKKI STILL POSTS THERE!! IT MUST BE A CONSPIRACY!!!"

Really, people. I left a messageboard. That makes me childish and pathetic? I think it's far more pathetic that you're whining about one person making a decision to leave, when clearly you don't even like them. Everything most of you have said about me has been negative... so why on earth would you want me back?

Move on. I have. Or at least I've tried to.

I think that is the explanation we were looking for.

I miss Alex. I don't think she has left completely...but she's just busy with her new job. I can't say for sure though. Silly people. Come back!

because we loooove youuuuu.

Despite how this thread might seem to indicate otherwise. A lot of us miss you.
It sucks for the Cm that you've left, and even though it's really good of you to come back and explain things clearly, I really wish it could have been because of something like "The Bring back Nikki revolutionary front" rather than a thread like this one.

it is interesting that i read how dead this place is so much in this thread yet it grew to 5 pages in three days. Also i havent been on in a few days and there was 615 posts, it really isnt dead. I think like everything it waxes and wanes. After all the hub had 11 people on it for the past few days. it is summer and people are doing summery things.
Interesting discussion.

I know your name. Hell, you're one of my myspace friends.

Anyways, I remember joining this board before Gravity was about to come out to snag a download of "Somewhere Out There" because my radio station wasn't playing it much.

After joining, I decided to lurk through a few of the threads and I loved it. I didn't know many OLP fans in normal life, and considering after Happiness... came out, OLP seriously became what I got excited for. I paid money to go to a Creed concert for a chance to see OLP play "Blister" (which they didn't, of course). I found people on here discussing their excitement for the new album, talking about how much this band meant to them, and most importantly, meeting up at shows to form a community. That was most important for me, considering I seriously had no friends that shared this interest with me, so I stuck around for a bit.

This board used to be great for everyone. I remember my first post here was the start of a thread that already existed, and Robbo just told me that there was a thread already, and to go there. No flaming, no anger, and I liked it here. I stuck around for a while. I met great people through this board. Hell, I fucking dated someone from this board, not to mention I became one of Dan's only friends (anyone pre-2004 would cringe at that name).

Yes, there were bad times here. Hell, I started a majority of the fights I was involved in. Immaturity rules, really. But no matter how many fights people got in on here, we all got over it and moved on. I mean, I might not be best friends with Alex, but, well, I am sure she doesn't have a voodoo doll with my name on it either. Or Stephanie. Or Rob. Or Bethany. Or, well, really, everyone on this board. I was a little bastard, wasn't I?

Well, someone got mad at Nikki and no one shit themselves in anger. I got mad at lots of people, and it took years for me to get banned the first time. I know I was the toast of the town in the mods-only forum, but everyone knew problems will pass. That's honestly how it is. Emotions are cyclical for everyone, not everyone is a complete pissant all the time. If that were true, someone would have come to my house and stuck me with an AIDS-covered needle.

But let's be honest here. If Nikki meant that much to the board, we should do what we have to in order to get her back. I never liked her, and never will like her, but I don't want to see a board where I played a large part for years to die because of some pointless revolt. It's not worth it. This place meant a lot to me, and I know it meant a lot to Alex, Robbo, Bethany, Rob, Al, Lori, Joey (I miss that girl sometimes), Kimmy and all the others I was friendly with from one time to the other. Even if the majority of the pre-Gravity people don't post here anymore, it should be a priority to keep it around for Al and motherfuckin' Lando.

That's all I have to say about this. I just don't want to see this board die like my love of the band did.
