one is on the first floor, the other is on the second.
kidding! yeah, no idea.

that reminds me of something that happened yesterday.
so, i was about to get on a subway in toronto and i saw that they sold tickets OR tokens for $10.50. so i asked the lady the difference between them.. "one's coin & the other is paper"..yeah, thanks. i felt really stupid. and that's my story. i thought there was some great difference, but no. she was a meanie face.

what did you want the ttc lady to say?!?!

i don't liek tokens, because i mistake them for dimes. really. you gotta be careful for those things.

it's reasons like that i'm thankful i can scam the TTC and still use student tickets.
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

Ok so get this: minutes after I book my hotel room one of thsoe news flash / previews / teasers comes on ...

"Think twice before booking your next Hotel room online, the latest internet site to fall victim to credit card theft comming up at 11"

Anywhoo ...
I just hit up my bank account for about $300 after taxes and fees and all that.
It didn't give me a choice to choose my room but in the confirmation it said just 1 bed for the 2 adults I put down. I'll have to send a line back and see if I can get it changed to double twin beds instead of 1 queen.

I also didn't see any comments section. What did you guys put down? Just "Please put me in a room near other CM.net members?"

Lastly my room is open to as many people as Torontos buliding/fire code allows.
I only ask that you please tip me generously and remeber who will still offer free room and board at my place next time OLP visitis Columbus, Ohio. :D

Crustine - You may want to add all the hotel info to your very first post so people don't have to search through to find the exact info.

thanks for this pointer..good idea Tom and no there was no place for changing beds or adding requests. I had to call the hotel and request 2 beds and then i requested the names of people. if you get one you should get them all.

i am reposting this at the end of the thread as well for those who come here first

Hey all

Here is the scoop. I did much research and have found what I believe is the best deals out there. I was going to book 8 rooms but I didnt want to carry the $1400 for all of you. i love you but...well you understand.

Here are the choices ( prices booked through hotels.ca -- the hotel.com prices I believe are slightly higher, if this is the case try using the expedia site for a better price in the US)

The Metropolitain **** ( 4 stars) 141.55 with all taxes $170.86 /night

http://www.metropolitan.com/toronto/

THIS IS THE HOTEL MOST OF US HAVE BOOKED FOR. IF YOU ARE OKAY WITH THE PRICE READ NO FURTHER.

If you need two beds you have to call the hotel after you have submitted your reservation or reserve directly from then on the phone. Also if you would like to request your room to be near others you will need to call then as request that too. We have done that by last name, ie Edwards, Hains, Warren etc.

Novatel *** (3.5 stars) 159.00 with all taxes $186.83 / night

Days Hotel ** (2.5 Stars) 129.00 with all taxes 150.61/night

xxhttp://www.dayshoteltoronto.ca/

I am going to book at the Metro for Friday and Saturday night as is Nikki. I would reccomend that we put in a note in our comment section that we would like a room near other CM members.

I really wish i could just book all the rooms .

Also, for the gamblers out there....you can try priceline.com or hotwire.com

I've hotwired before in downtown TO and you can get a nice hotel at a decent rate. The catch with hotwire is that you dont know which hotel you're getting until after you've committed.

I checked the rates for July 1st in the downtown area of TO and the price of a 4 star hotel is is $84. And here is the list of 4 star hotels that work with hotwire in downtown TO:

Park Hyatt
Sutton Place
Le Royal Meridien King Edward
Hilton Toronto
Metropolitan Hotel
Intercontinental Toronto
Westin Harbour Castle
Sheraton Centre Toronto

Everytime I've hotwired in the area I get the Sheraton which is a really nice place and it's close to the Metro. Obviously, the negative to doing it this way is that everyone else is staying at the Metro. but for the cost-conscious traveller, it's an economic option.
