:O
TEENYBOPPER I AM!!!

anywho

I think OLP didn't release their best songs for this album on purpose. I mean the songs are awesome!!!

But I think OLP have recorded better songs and are waiting to release them with another album in the future. That or they will work on the songs already recorded.

With the notion that Bob Rock will not be producing them for the next album indicates to me that they want a change. But what change and what producer would they lean towards?!

I would really like it to be Lanni, but apparently OLP were having some problems with him (I get the feeling that OLP is a tough band to produce albums with).

Also, if they do decide to release vampires on this new album they're going to have to change it around a lot. I mean, didn't they use a lot Vampire's lyrics in "World on a String"?

I think Steve told somebody in Philly? I vaguely remember hearing that conversation. :freak:

I'll expand why I don't think it will now. I've seen so many bands I like lately claim they'll have new material out in a year's time, and it's never come to fruition... except once-- Maladroit. But like that turned out very well for the Weez. I wouldn't doubt an EP in a year. That's just six songs at most. But a whole new album to tour and promote for? Don't get your hopes up too much, people. I know the band has done it once before, but times are different now. Especially when you're on a major label.

I think it's really possible to happen. I mean, they recored over 40 songs and they can use the ones they really like and rework them and put them on a new CD within a year. Especially if they're going back and forth from touring and the studio like they say they're doing.

When they were finished Gravity, I'm guessing they were disappointed and had no other material so they worked from scratch. And now that they've found what Our Lady Peace is, they can continue to produce stuff in a NEW way. And if Bob Rock is gone, they'll probably have a better time making the new CD.

I wonder who they'll work with if they've finally dumped Bob Rock's sorry ass...?

People started talking about that here.

And no, I wouldn't like it if Arnold Lanni was their producer again. He seems to have fallen a bit on the wayside of things lately, too.

I hope they get rid of bob, but this record is a great sound for OLP, its closer to that "Olp sound" that was created in the first 4 record. OLP would prob benifit from a new producer, wed see anohter small change in sound, but thats good.

Theyre great now, theve never been so good live in my opinion, theyve got sensational setlists, and a good record.

You can't place all the blame on going with Bob Rock on OLP. Spiritual Machines, although a great album didnt do so well commercially so obviously the label had something to do with it..I think Healthy In Paranoid Times was about as good and had about as much soul as you can expect with having Rock produce..OLP did a great job. I think it'd be cool if Steve Lillywhite produced the next album.

I'd like to see Daniel Lanois do the next ablum. He's worked on a bunch of U2 albums and I believe is currently working with Dashboard Confessional, alsos worked for Bob Dylan and Ron Sexsmith. I think OLP would do well with him

One thing about another album coming out so soon... it's not gonna happen if Angels does really well.

*smacks self* it is wrong of me to want a single to do badly in order to get new music, it is wrong of me to want a single to do badly in order to get new music, it is wrong of me to want a single to do badly in order to get new music......

seriously though, angels losing sleep is an amazing song and i'd be happy for them if it did well. im kind of shocked that they went with it over WTFBU. (not that I like WTFBU better, it just kind of screams "make me a single!" imo.

As for bands releasing albums very quickly, Audioslave have apparently finished pre-production on a new cd they hope to get out by spring. Let's see if it actually happens.

I'm not sure an OLP reunion with Lanni would turn out as they'd hope, or that it would meet all the expectations and hopes posed by the rabid group of fans that've prayed for that for 3 or 4 years now. Bands change, people get older. In spite of my supporting a bands right to work with whomever the hell they please I'm worked into a dither at the probability of a Bob Rock-less future for OLP.

Who knows, maybe in ten years we'll be able to pull an evil Bob Rock mannequin on Raine and he'll run screaming into the night.
