Last time they were here I could have gone drinking with them. But I was 19.

You sure are set out on making them out to be big drinkers, maybe it's to compensate for your own habits to make yourself feel better. I have been with them possibly more than anyone talking about it in this thread.
I know they are set against that lifestyle. Regardless if they drink occasionally, as a rule they do not get drunk. I didn't say they never were in their lives, but its not something they do.
I find it amusing how one comment how I admire them for staying clean and sober brings about people trying to disprove something that was intended as a positive remark. None of it has to to with this thread whatsoever.

If you want to make them out to be these drinkers to make yourself feel better, be my guest.
Personally the times when I was with them -and I have been with them lots, in more personal settings- they certainly were not, (although I can see how it could look differently to others). The things you are saying are nothing but second hand or based on non-personal observance and assumption.

But carry on if you makes you feel better. :roll:

Umm, actually most of us posting in here have been around them while they were drinking, so it's very first hand.

We're not saying they drink to "make ourselves feel better", but because you're incorrect in what you're saying. I for one have never had alcohol in my life. I don't need to go around talking about OLP drinking to "make myself feel better". Several others who've posted in this thread also don't drink. We're simply trying to tell you that your statements are no longer accurate.

Maybe you should stop caring so much about whether OLP drink or don't drink. It makes absolutely no difference to their music nor to your life.

Gah, I never said they never drank- why do people keep distorting what I say?
I meant that if and when they do drink it's usually not much -as others have also mentioned here- and they don't drink to get drunk (again- I'm not saying they have never been drunk), but only that I admire them for staying out of *that* lifestyle.
They seem to handle it responsibly so far, although that can change at any time (as it did with me). I personally stay completely away from alcohol now.

Perhaps it doesn't directly affect my life, but I consider them people whom I care about on a somewhat personal level as well, and I know how these things can suck you in and take you down. It did to me for a while- and it's not worth it.

At any rate I think we all agree we want to see the band continue in success and keep down to earth- which they have been doing (albeit some rough times in the past year for them both professionally and personally), things seem to have- leveled off.

and about the drinking who cares? Why do you feel so strongly about it, i know they drink occasionaly and theres nothing wrong with it.

THe issue isnt us or the band, its you, youve had BAD expiriences with alcohol, and it makes YOU happy to see a band who is against it. It hurts you to see they are, just accept it.

Now i sound like dr.phil. Im not sure if thats a bad that.

BTW a bunch of us on here have had opportunities to hang with the band( not for hours on end but longer then Hi how are you situations) at one point or another so we do know what we are talking about for most part..

Also I lilke how you said nobody on her has been around the band as much as you. I beg to differ.. Unless you are an actually member or personal friend I have to say( and people on here will back me up) that I have pretty much been aroun the band ALOT... and there are others like myself ...
