I think Apology is much more likely written for Chantal. It sounds more like love for your spouse than for your son.
about ALS, it really make sense that it's kinda "you'll see i was right" song, and that's what he's so anxiously waiting for.

btw, can anyone tell details about the Darfur incident? first of all where Darfur is (i'm from Asia...) and why did Raine wanted to move there? and why without his family???

Darfur is located in the Sudan. On one of the album radio premieres, he talked about going there with George Stroumboal;akjfa;ldjfal;kjreoious and feeling so compelled to stay that he told George they shouldn't go back, and should stay and help. He talks about it a little more on the DVD side of the dual disc.

I read somewhere that Apology is about Lucca, and Boy is about Rowan. I'm not sure where... i'll try and find it.

Apology was the first song written for HIPT (well, the first that actually made the final album), so I'm guessing it was written before Lucca was in the picture...
