It's so good to see everyone appreciating this album..

Wipe, Boy, & Apology are the best songs on the album, and all the other songs are less than half a step behing those 3

I haven't actually listened to old OLP in a long time.

I just listened to If You Believe and All My Friends (it's been months).

It took my breath away. Seriously, I just stopped breathing.

HIPT is good, but it can't do that.

Not everyone! :clumsy:

Johnny Loftus usually writes decent reviews, but I found this one amusing. He loses points for calling "Somewhere Out There" a highlight from Gravity, and comparing "Where Are You?" to the Killers. Makes me wonder just how well his ears developed in the womb.

For whatever reason, All My Friends gives me insane goosebumps every time I listen to it. And more than just regular music goosebumps - much more than that. Think there's some subliminal signals in SM that make us react like that? Like it's laced with mental heroin or something...

All My Friends and If You Believe are my favorite songs on that CD, and probably some of my favorite songs period.

I have yet to hear HIPT. 8:00 AM tomorrow.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.
Waiting for something else,

I'm starting to realize that this is a really solid album. I enjoy it. And for some reason it wasn't really what I was expecting. Why? I have no idea. I've heard most of the songs short of downloading the album. But like the other OLP CD's it really does make a good cover to cover album. Not just a collection of songs.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

It's okay though. I can hold my breath for a few minutes (as long as I pause between songs to breathe)

If a song makes my heart stop, though, I'll be in trouble!

oh yes, i also stand by what i said about not recognizing walking in circles as an olp song. even on the edge, i heard three notes i was pretty confused. the beginning of this song is pretty different than anything else we've heard.

Wow. Uhhh, wow.

We still need a head exploding emoticon. This is the third example of where it would be useful.

I don't know why, but I really feel the need to give my opinion on the album...I'm trying to start posting on here a little more often like I used to a few years ago.

It's not what I was expecting. It's very mellow, and I can't decide if I like that or not. It doesn't really sound like OLP. Gravity sounded more like OLP than this one does. I don't know if that's a good thing right now, or what, but I can't really get myself to listen to it more than the two listens I already gave it.

I really like Angels, Apology, and Walking in Circles. I kept tabs on this thread before the album came out so I knew which songs to listen to when it actually came out and the general consensus was that Al Genina was just mind-blowing, but I don't see it. I mean, it's good, but I keep waiting for drums or something to come through, but it never happens.

World On a String confuses me. I can't understand what the band was thinking when they made that song. In my opinion it's just bad. It's just so strange. Same thing with Don't Stop. I've only heard it twice, and it just won't get out of my head, but it's one of those annoying things.

Sorry to damper this thread with a kind of pessimistic view, but like I said, I really felt the need to give my opinion. I was a frequent poster back in the day, so I figured I should give my two cents.

Al Genina is so beautiful, it's one of my favourites

World on a String does have a crazy beat, it reminds me of Made to Heal or Annie. I like it more now that I've seen it live :D

I finally got the freakin' album!!!

OK... so I downloaded it from the HUB, but UPS says it'll be here tomorrow.

I just couldn't wait, so I stole it.

I've got to say I'm pretty pleased.

Apology is amazing. Thought I'm not quite digging Love & Trust like everyone else... but I've only listened to it twice the whole way through.

And Al Genina... that's a beautiful song too.
