HIPT Discussion Thread For Those Who Waited.

Post by Jay84 »

yeah, that's right.
the album is trés great in my opinion... though i'm heavily biased when it comes to our lady peace. they could release an entire album of just them making dinosaur noises and it would be on my list of best records ever. seriously.

"wipe that smile..." is the weakest link (goodbye.). i'm so used to hearing the live version of the song with the long ass guitar solo; the studio version doesn't quite compare. same goes for walking in circles but to a lesser degree. they really should have named it "walken in circles" because christopher walken is undeniably a golden god of cheesy awesomeness.

end.

I love the guitar stuff on this cd...I never heard the live versions of Walking in Circles or Smile, but I love the guitar solos on the cd versions. And yes, I waited too, although my cd store released it a day early so I first heard it yesterday :)

"Wipe That Smile Off Your Face" is a weak point? So far, that's my favorite song on the album (although I'm sure that will change over time). I'm loving the album so far, but I need a few more listens before I'll be able to do a "proper" review. Oh, for the linar notes, there is an excerpt from them in my sig!

Brutus is an honorable man
It's just coincidence that oil men will wage war in an oil rich land
And this one goes out to my man taking cover in the trenches with a gun in his hand
Then gets home and no one flinches when he can't feed his fam...

But Brutus is an honorable man...

Yeah, I think Love and Trust might be my favorite so far too...not sure though. They're all pretty damn fantastic. I love A/L/S. And Apology and Al Genina are just like...whoa...

I still haven't listened to it. I figure, if I was able to hold out this long to hear the new album, I can hold out until next album to listen to this one!!

If Coldplay or U2 were to release Love & Trust the CD and the song would be #1 on Billboard.

Apology is the weak link for me.

My top 5 favs so far are (in no order): Love & Trust, Will the Future Blame Us, Don't Stop, Boy and Angels Losing Sleep.

The end of Boy really draws me into the song.

It's kind of cool to get people's different opinions. Apology is my very favourite song on the album. It's...wow...this definitely is not "the new Gravity." Some songs aren't super good in my opinion, but Walking in Circles, love and trust, will the future blame us and apology...wow.
