Most everyone on this board is Canadian. I'm willing to say 2/3. Everyone else is American or European...I think.

Rusty wrote:Why the hell are we arguing about this again?!?! Has everybody forgotten the last thread that got LOCKED because we were arguing about this? I believe it was Nikki wasn't it, who said that this kind of stuff just makes a wider gap between the Canadians and Americans on this board? It's stupid and pointless to argue this. Lets put it this way, Some of us are American, some are Candadian, some are European, Asian, African, whatever, were all from some country and damn proud to be from that country. We have similarities and differences, just like individual people. Let's not get into all this crap again. No country is another countries junior anything, each country is their own country, lets leave it at that.

Settle down Rusty. No reason to cringe at the sight of a debate. Sometimes words gets used out of context. No reason to close threads. It's all in good nature. The Canadians here know that they're not better than the Americans (well maybe at hockey... and curling... and beer but you know how it goes) and Americans here know they're not better than the Canadians (except maybe at baseball... and economics... and...)

Honestly, if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. I've said it before and I'll say it again: What is said in the politics thread stays in the politics thread. I have never seen an argument in here cause trouble throughout the forum. People should not take everything in here to heart, and rather learn from what everyone is saying and understand different perspectives.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

That other thread got far uglier than this one.

That's all I'm saying in here because to be honest with you, I'm extremely depressed over the election results, and talking about it any more only makes it worse.

Oh, though I would like to clarify something.

His lack of grasp of the English language has absolutely nothing to do with his accent.

oh and nikki, i to am terrified about our future. Not just American's have cause for fear. the whole world is at a loss for words, we're all disapointed. Hell, as a whole the rest of the world is more disapointed and depressed about this then America. And who would be more so then their neighbor and siamese twin?

Mark my words something terrible and tragic is going to happen soon.

Oh dear.

WATCH OUT PEOPLE THE SKY IS FALLING IN! AMERIKKKA IS GOING TO DIE!!!!!

Here's some news.

The 4 Horsemen of hte Apocalypse are NOT coming.
The Mayan calendar is not in its last days.
And believe it or not... we AREN'T going to be hit by a giant meteor any time soon.

Stop being a fear monger and overly dramatic and wake up to yourself.

The opinions of the Bush and Howard haters are all over the place. They think that everyone who consciously voted for either Bush or Howard were wrong, stupid, greedy and/or uninformed. The loudest haters are the ones most surprised by this because it shows that it is they who are out of touch. Please let it be known that there are informed people with real intelligence who know the full value of this years elections.

If you analyse the results. The most important issue to people were moral values. More than 1 in 5 people rated this as the most important issue this election. More so than Iraq/Economy/National Security. and 81% of people who placed this as their top priority voted for Bush. The Democrats have lost touch with middle America and instead taken up root with the liberal elite in the New England and West Coast regions. Don't pretend that they're more traditional conservative views are any less important than yours, to do so would be arrogancy at its highest.

I know all this from listening to CNN for the past 36 hrs and perusing some 7500+ replies and responses to the US election result.

All i said is something horrible and tragic will happen soon, and i fully believe that a man like Bush will cause such a thing. Whether it be another, war, attack, or draft. I know something is going to happen.

A man like Bush is very unpopular in the world, he's a man without allies andmany enemies, and he has no intention of making new friends. This can only lead to disaster when mixed with war lust

and i don't believe that their wants are any less true then my wants. I just feel that Bush isn't saticfying them properly. They agree that many issues are problems, but they have differing views on how to solve them.

Most of teh other strictly conservitive issues that you coudl say i don't respect are ones i consider bigoted, or irrational.

I agree and disagree at the same time.

I dont remember whether I said this earlier or not. Content people are usually silent. There were a lot of people out there who voted both in Australia and in the US for the incumbent governments despite the Iraq issue and such. That would lead me to belive theres still a lot of people out there who support Bush in what he does... otherwise.. why the hell vote for them? There is also a lot of BUSH & CO ARE BAD. These people are particularly vocal. A lot of people stay silent in the onslaught of the hate and verbal attacks that they'll cop if they speak up about who they support. And as happend the other night, they spoke with their votes. You are a vocal MINORITY albeit somewhat bigger than most but a minority none the less.

I've seen this stated a few times and it means something like french fries. Though I've never seen or heard this footage and I'm merely speculating here, but my guess would be he was referring to Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia. I'm sure many of you don't even know who he is. Albeit, the answer was still very very wrong, but it sounds like because of the comical value of the meaning of Poutine vs. a nation leader lead to the story being twisted.

Also, does anyone else find it ironic how someone who would support the UNIFICATION of two nations being accused of further DIVIDING them? :freak:

.....I dont remember all the details, but basically a reporter from CBC approached Bush after a speech and said:

"Canadian Prime Minister Poutine just passed a bill protecting the rights of seals in alberta, do you agree with his decision?"

and Bush nodded and smiled and everything, and gave some sort of approving remark.

More or less he wasn't paying any attention to what he was doing, but it's still pretty rediculous.

not really. By unification, he basically wanted Canada to become part of America.

if that's not going to happen, he hardly gives a shit about Canada. he even said somewhere that Mexico is your most important trading partner.

not that i'm freaking out about this election or anything... i just figured i'd post a couple things.

i think the only way he can unify the country in a way that i would fully support him is if he were to resign. oh snap!

oh and i'd also like to make a comment that i think this thread gets the record for most uses of the icons: :wtf:  and ESPECIALLY
