Bush Wins
Bush Wins
That's right folks, I'm calling it right now at midnight. Bush wins the election. You can all laugh at me if somehow Kerry pulls it off but Ohio is looking pretty much like Bush country right now, so I'm calling it.
Remember you heard it here first! Not CNN, not NBC, not FOX, the CM!

No, the other threads don't discuss the results, simply the lead up.
If you prefer you can consider this the post-election thread.
And, Bush is up by 150,000 votes in Ohio. 51% to 49% doesn't sound like much but 150,000 votes is a lot.

I know you've got this super ego i know everything trip happening, but maybe, just MAYBE, you could wait until the election is actually over? I dont care if i'm being naive but i would rather hear the negative fate when its 100%, than when its "probable".
Settle down, and face reality. I know it is ever so difficult to come to grips with but I'm just having some fun. if you honestly want to wait until Bush gets crowned, then go right ahead and ignore this thread until its official.
Thanks!

No if they tie Bush just uses his connections to steal the election. As he probably already is.

You all put John Kerry up on a pedastal as if he's the best thing since sliced bread and Bush is the DEvil incarnate. Bush is not corrupt and he's not going to pay to steal the election or any other stupid idea that you Kerry fanatics may come up with. In the end the election was decided by who voted. If you feel you must call half your countrymen idiots for voting for Bush. Just remember they probably think the same about you. Kerry's whole platform was based on ... I'm not George W!
Anyways. at the time this post was made. Bush had a 140K lead in Ohio. He needs 80K of the remaining 300K to be certain of victory. Kerry on the other hand needs 220K to achieve victory in Ohio.
New Mexico looks to have gone to Bush, though it hasn't been called yet.
Wisconsin is Kerry with a 15K lead.
Iowa wont be done for a while but Bush leads.
Those are the 4 remaining states to be called.\
Most likely scenario is a Bush win.
Bush - 254
Kerry - 242
Remaining states
Wisconsin - 10 Kerry leads
Iowa - 7 Bush leads
New Mexico - 5 Bush leads
Ohio - 20 Bush leads

I'm more filled with a resignation that he is in fact our president for 4 more years. The majority of the country does not agree with me and thinks that he does have the correct answer and can lead us to something better. I do not think that is the case, but it is what it is.
George Bush is our new president for good or for bad and I support him as such.
Please George, do a better job this time.
This is perhaps the most dignified and respectful post on ANY form that I've surfed over the past 20 hrs or so. And many of you should take heed. Bush WILL be President for the next 4 yrs. Even if you don't like the decision you should still support your chosen leader even if it wasn't the guy you chose. the worst thing you can do is undermine his authority on this country and further divide it.

We should support a man who constantly does things we disagree with? Yeah, that makes sense. Just because he's our leader doesn't mean we have to support him. Lord knows I haven't these past few years he's been president, and I'm not gonna start now. That's what makes this America.
Anyway, I'm with Kerry camp, I'm not accepting it til it's completely over and every vote's counted.

I have to agree with korzic... The amount Kerry has to come back from in Ohio is too much. There are roughly 175,000 provisional votes (that's the high end estimate by the way) and the fact is Kerry would have to get at least 160,000 to barely come out of Ohio as the winner.
Kerry's camp is in denial. The world is in denial. Everyone's saying "just wait and see" as if a blind hope has swept around the world. The math just doesn't add up to a Kerry vistory.
Also, the fact that people are saying Bush is stealing the election is bull shit. What if Kerry takes this to the courts and wins? (somehow... as far fetched as it is) Will he have stole the election with his lawyers?
There are a lot of double standards around here and I think we all need to step into reality. I'm not happy with four more years of Bush, but it's only 4 years and seeing as how I couldn't do anything about it, I'm accepting that. After that we can have the satisfaction of knowing he'll never be in office again.

Oddly enough... despite all the hullabulloo and expectations... New voter turn out this time was about the same as in 2000.
So what the hell happened to the 18-24 age group which remianded steady at 10%

so.
it's good to be assured with my very first voting experience that my vote doesn't count.
as far as i'm concerned, my country is not being run by a president; it is being run by a fundamentalist businessman. therefore, we most certainly do not have to respect and quitely defer to our "leader," as there is no one currently in a position of power who warrants such respect and deference.

Lick a finger: feel the now.
He got the majority of the votes in enough states... so obviously people think he's doing something right. (I'm not sticking up for him, I think he's the worst leader the US has had, but I'm just saying that the majority like him... or just find him better than Kerry)
