i'll i know is am pretty ashame to be an american today, with all the gay marriage bans that passed...not to mention the worst president in history getting reelected

Wow, I went to bed thinking it was gonna be in courts. I guess Ohio didn't look enticing enough.

I'm more filled with a resignation that he is in fact our president for 4 more years. The majority of the country does not agree with me and thinks that he does have the correct answer and can lead us to something better. I do not think that is the case, but it is what it is.

George Bush is our new president for good or for bad and I support him as such.

Please George, do a better job this time.

This is perhaps the most dignified and respectful post on ANY form that I've surfed over the past 20 hrs or so. And many of you should take heed. Bush WILL be President for the next 4 yrs. Even if you don't like the decision you should still support your chosen leader even if it wasn't the guy you chose. the worst thing you can do is undermine his authority on this country and further divide it.

I also think that if you don't at lease recognize and respect the the man that is your president, you don't deserve to be American, at least to a degree. Did I like Clinton? HELL NO! But did I walk around with pins and shirts that had pictures of Clinton on them with the caption "not my president"? No. Because he was still my president no matter how big of a dumbass/asshole/corrupt person I thought he was.

BTW, I am very proud of my fellow Americans for getting there and voting. How many new voters did we get? I think it's pretty exciting.

This time he wins by nearly 4 million in the popular vote, a couple dozen points in the electoral college, and takes more than half the states and he is still being accused of stealing the election?

He may not be the greatest choice, but like it or not, he won this one fair.

about 110 million I think all up.

And to add in something else. Reports are in that there were only 130K provisional votes in Ohio. For the need for them to be counted the lead had to be smaller than the amount of prov. votes. At the close of counting, Bush had a 136,211 vote lead in Ohio, hence the reason why Kerry conceded.

Plus, he would have had to get every single provisional vote, which would never happen. I think Kerry is alot more respectable now, than Gore, just for not trying to drag it out. Seriously, America needed a winner.

Gore had reason to drag it out... I mean a few hundred votes is not a lot and a recount is needed in cases like that... dragging this out would have just been stupid.

Seriously, I have a ton of respect for Kerry. Conceding was a truly comendable and patriotic thing to do. He could have easily released his lawyers on the polls and dragged this thing out for several weeks which would probably divide this country even more. The election is over and I'm asking my fellow Americans to please put our differences aside and lets band together and take this country into a bright future!

i still agree he is not my president and not to be an ass but i feel there is a good chance he will be assasinated or at least someone will attempt to do so. But that doesnt make things better since Dick Cheney then would be president.

woah, it's WAY more unamerican to silence yourself and be a freakin' sheep. people who wore the "not my president" shirts obviously felt strongly enough against bush to make a statement and let themselves be known that they do not support him.

seriously guys, just because someone is our elected leader does not mean we have to support him "because he is our president, so deal with it, blah blah blah blah"

oh and i guess i'm not american because i IN NO WAY respect W.

oh and just so you all know, the same amount of young people (18-30) voted as in the last election, which was a WOPPING 10%!!!!

You don't have to undermine someone to disagree. There are more constructive routes to take. Why can't you wear "crappy policy" shirts instead of "not my president"? I would never do that. And I don't think you should silence yourself. That's the main difference between you and me I suppose. I would have called Kerry my president whether I voted for him or not.

BTW, just because people hate Bush doesn't mean he's going to be assasinated. Kennedy was a democrat and was assasinated. There will always be someone out there hating the president. Someone just as rabid might have tried something on Kerry.

It's hard to take the country into a bright future with a leader who has nobody's interests but his own in his mind.

But yes, Kerry has been commendable and extremely admirable this whole election process. He has far more class than Bush could ever wish to, and I find it painful that he's not our new president. Putting aside policies and everything else, he'd make a much better face for America to the world than that yahoo in office who can barely even speak the English language.

Ugh, this is a sad day for this country. I honestly fear for the next four years.

Please Nikki. Just because he has a rural accent doesn't make him a yahoo. I have a slight rural accent, my family has "hick" accents but are still more intelligent that some people would ever hope to be. If you're going by looks and speech, I'd say I'd take Bush over Kerry in a million years. He's an ugly sob.
