I'll just be an asshole now (wow, I'm going to do something asshole-ish, shocking, eh?) and list off a bunch of punk-like artists that are better.

Alkaline Trio, Jawbreaker, Jawbox, Hot Water Music, Vistaway, Fall Out Boy, At The Drive-In.

Those are bands from 1990 to present. I didn't even delve into the 1980s and 70s. Not to mention those are just bands that I listen to regularly too. I could go back into my cd collection and list 20 more bands in the same category that are better.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Mechanical Thought wrote:I've seen them both live. Each band put on a great show and has an excellent attitude toward their profession.

But, I just like Billy Talent better overall. Screaming is not only tolerated but encouraged for myself... but, Alexisonfire took it to the extreme.

thats what i felt after i saw that show with both of em
twas a good show no doubt but billy talent was better IMO
go fuck yourself.

ya know what... i actually hated billy talent at first, but i've come to respect them a bit more. they have sort of proved themself in my eyes, and aren't a one-hit wonder. it'll be interesting to hear their next album.

I would compare them to: no-one I know of. They're very unique, and also my musical knowledge is not up to snuff in that general area. Definately worth a listen though!

Wait, you're a fan of Wire? The punk band from the 70s and 80s Wire? The band that made the album "Pink Flag" Wire?

Please be the same one.

Same band. Pink Flag is simply amazing. That's all I've heard though.

I can tolerate some screaming in metal and rock, but Alexisonfire just blows . There like a horrible version of In Flames.

Yes well they're not my favourite, but it was a very interesting listen, and I can certainly see the influence they had on the generations that followed.
