i got an e-mail today from sleater-kinneys rep somehow...i have never heard these people but just for fun ill post the e-mail here:

Hi Rob,

Sleater-Kinney is available from April 20 or so through early May in the
northeast...for colleges...they are fine about multiple band bills...local
production etc...

We may be a little more discriminating than they have asked us to be...we
want the right kinds of college shows if they are out there...

$15K is the number that gets this done...but more importantly to us is the
context of the shows...the other bands that might be on the bill...and how
these shows are produced.

Do you have availability/ interest in putting an offer in?

Thanks, I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

FIFTEEN THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS!!!!! that is insanity...do they realize our budget is under $2000 for the whole show..obviously not

Damn... my friend who goes to UVA told me they're getting Better Than Ezra at their show (not what you're looking for, probably) but now it makes me wonder how much the school spent on that.

I can't believe they get that much. I heard you can get Cheap Trick for about $10,000. Sleater Kinney are always playing here in NYC. I think they are a 3 piece girl band. I never heard their music, but I have heard of them.

Sleater Kinney opened for Pearl Jam when I saw them last summer. I can't believe they want that kind of money, maybe being on a big tour got to their heads. Its too bad not many bands will come play at minimal costs just because they love to perform.

I wonder how much a band like Greenwheel would cost...
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

right now i cant do anything b/c the idiot in charge of the organization didnt go through the process to get the money to fund the shows. He is a really stuck up indie kid who thinks he is better then the world. My friend and I are going to see if we can get control of the club since he is not using the money or having meetings.
