I love the guitar work on Spiritual Machines, whether it be by Jamie or Mike.
However, is there a way to distinguish who is playing what, on the album anyway? I notice during live shows that Mike sometimes wouldn't even play during a verse and other times he would. I'm not exactly an expert on guitars, I just know what sounds good.

Back to the original comment about Raine needing voice lessons... I think that voice lessons might ruin Raine's unique sound but in some cases he does need to tune his voice a little better before shows or practice or do something 'cause hes lacking just a little bit in the live area.
As for mike and steve... I dont really know who i like better.. I think gravity is OLP's weakest cd (I halfly blame Bob Rock for that) and thats the only cd Steve has played on... I dont think I am even ready to fully judge him yet... I mean he's awesome live but he hasnt done any writing or anything yet so I will have to see... but i think right now i prefer mike a lil more.

1. Raine is infallible. He can do no wrong. He can dumb his songs down to extrodinary depths, even as low as Puddle Of Mud, and completely abandon his unique voice, and it's still OK.
2. You're a moron. Mike > Steve. There's no debating this.

"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

Trent. Thank you. At least you got it.
I am sorry I forgot the golden rule of slapping 7 emoticons after each joke I make. I'll try not to mix that up again.
But hey, keep thinking what you want. Keep taking everything personally. Keep looking like morons with your reactions. Way to go peoples.

I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

i still love both of them, i'm just saying Naveed was my fav by Mike, and from what i've seen Steve definatly has some great talent, i would love to see him just go nuts on songs and add 1-2 min instrumentals into the songs not just live but on record. This is something IME has made me crave, it's not like the instrumentals are out of place they're just part of the song, completely natural. Where as when you watch steve, he goes nots and then he's abruptly cut short before it feels like the solo should end, for an example "in Repair" he was doing great and then WHAM, back into the rest of the song

Umm... As far as I know Raine has a vocal coach. Him and Chantal go to the same person. A girl in my residence has the brochure that the vocal coach uses to get new people, it said that the coach had worked with both of them on the brochure.
