Yeah, but it's refreshing to know that SOT and Innocent get played less on 89X than Thief. When I ask my radio listening friends about OLP, they tell me OMA or Thief, which blows my mind. I am beyond glad I don't have to educate them on their OLP.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Probably depends where you live.
Like it or Not ( I pick not) In the US they will be remembered for SOT. It's been their biggest hit to date, and unless they outdo themselves, it'll be SOT.
In Canada, it has to be Superman's Dead. SD was the biggest song (not even rock song.. i'm talkin in general) in 1997. Clumsy is the second biggest rock album in Canadian history, and SD was the song that started it all....

I'm sorry, but everytime I see this thread I get mad cause I dont want to think about OLP ever ending. Its a sad though...
But I still think that their biggest hit is yet to come.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Really, everything depends on their next cd. If the next cd does as well as gravity, then they will continue, but if it flops like spiritual machines they will either A. quit B. drop Bob Rock and go back to their experimental sound or C. take a break from the band.
I really think that if Spiritual machines did better in sales, gravity would have never happened. And this pisses me off. I don't think they could really take another 'failure' as they say.
And as for their biggest hit, i can't see any one of their songs being a bigger hit than their previous ones in canada, in the US, maybe. still doubtful.
THERE'S TOO MANY OF US THAT DON'T WANT TO FIGHT IT

i think no matter what, that after this record comes out and after they've toured for 2 years or so, they'll take a long break to be with family... raine ahs a baby on the way and duncan just had one (maybe two if the rumour is true). they'll take time off for their families and raine and chantal have talked about makin a record, so you know that will happen if he's at home with her...

It's source is bright and endless. She resuscitates the hopeless. Without her we are lifeless satellites dreaming dreams. And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt. Don't want to be down here feeding my narcissism. I must crucify the ego before it's far too late. I pray the light lifts me out before I pine away.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
It's kinda sad, though, I was thnking if something happened right now at this exact moment, and they just leave, it would be so goddamn sad that anybody outside of Canada will remember them by a really crappy love song, rather than amazing songs like The Birdman, Naveed, Superman's Dead, and In Repair, and, well, anything off the rest of their albums. I'd just cry.
In my personal opinion, Clumsy was the song that changed my life, therefore I'll always remember them for Clumsy.
Yeesh, I'm starting to act like they're dead or something. Someone bring up something funny or uplifting or something!!!

That is a hard question to answer-becasue of location.
I would say Starseed because to this day that song always gets agreat response in concert.
In the USA it will probably be Somewhere Out there or Superman's Dead since they were their biggest songs down here.
For me it will probably be Naveed. I said when I am on my death bed I want to have Naveed and One(u2) playing.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Not really.......I'd say "Naveed" and "RBY Mafia" for me, personally.
they only did this song at two shows. Hartford Oct 20th, 2002(which i was at) and Nov 4th 2002 In Sweeden. The Hartford show's version was fine. I think the Sweeden one might of been crappy. SInce they said it sounded like a train wreck and they weren't going to do it again.

I think they might drop Bob Rock, but if they did I don't think they'd go back to Lanni.

^ *too lazy to quote* Yeah, your probably right, but even someone sugesting in makes me feel hopeful and happy
Anyway... I think it would probably be SD.. at least to the fans (not necessarily the big fans..) I mean, Just listen to Live, The way Steve fiddles on the guitar and then the second he bursts into the opening cords of SD the crowd absolutely explodes into cheering and screaming (one of my fav parts on the cd) For anyone smart/old enough to remember back that far that will definately be what they'll be remembered by
