Yeah I'm a townie! :P
It annoys me so much that only Irish bands are hyped and there are some really great bands who are stuck doing the unknown club scene. (which is why I think our local scene blows)
we are stuck is a rut with our bands. There is a group of bands that do all the good opening gigs and shit and no one else has a chance. arguh.... :wall:

Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

NFLD seems to promote IME pretty good now, but i guess they already had a huge headstart before Brian even joined

I take great pleasure in supporting the local scene. Burlington and surrounding area produces some fine fine high school punkrock bands :)

NF will promote anything that could be related to NF. I mean, you think Crista Borden won pop stars cause she can sing? hell no. we like to promote ourselves...but any bands that could have talent have a realy hard time getting started here. Its weird...I don't understand it.

hmmm i've been looking into alot of Winnipeg bands and there's quite a few good ones, nothing spectacular yet, but worth the money to see them, Steeple Chaser and Livid are both pretty cool, Steeple Chaser took IME's place at Grand Beach, and they get Winnipeg radio play

I am from Utah also, never heard of them, though. I like The Downers, Hello Amsterdam, _IST, and SLAJO to name a few.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

Yeah thats cause nothing good comes here. When they do people either go nuts or find a good reason not to go.

We have so much support for local music cause that is all we get. No one on tour comes here, so the only live music is from local bands.

Oh man...Irish drinking songs are the BEST!!!
