local music

Post by deniedjunkie »

The politicians in this city are destroying our live music scene. There are small groups of people working very hard to support and help build the foundation that is so desperately needed for the many talented bands to break free of the crap, but sadly for every step forward there is another obstacle thrown into the curve, that sets the whole movement ten steps backwards.in Vancouver the bands are usually treated as though they are being done a favour by being able to play a club that refuses to promote, encourage and acknowledge the relevance and importance of live entertainment.

I love Winnipeg's music scene. We have a lot of diversity.

Saskatoons music scene is very iffy.. Its all about the bad pop punk bands here..but there are a few talented bands running around, just not many.

i never said our music scene was bad, it kicks ass, just not alot of support beyond the fans like seattle and many other cities have.

I disagree greatly!!!!! The Newfoundland music scean blows monkey chunks!!!! The only bands that are promoted are shitty irish/folk crap. Any band that does something mildly different isnt really supported! I hate it. uugh

look at me throwing a hissy fit.

the local bands in thunder bay suck except for maybe one. seriously though, if you ever come to thunder bay and there's a band called black amber doing a show, RUN AWAY. they're basically a really really really crappy metallica ripoff band. ugh.

thunder bay local bands = bad.

yeah i've heard about Loco, actually Winnipeg is sposed to have one of the best scenes in Canada, esspcially for it's size compared to teh bigger cities. My city is very small, just barely considered a city. There's not a ton. There's alot of good garage punk bands about, like real punk. There's a also a mildly achieved Pop-punk band from around here, We managed to get a article in Chart when Seven Dust played in my friends garage after being kicked out of the club by cops. Other then teh punks bands i really haven't seen much good
