Why is everyone so negative about OLP lately?

This is for you, this is for us...

1. Who is Dave?

2. I spend a good deal of my time talking like I have been like on this page, yet people keep personally attacking me, which leads me to say shit. It's not like I go around telling people off for no reason, I am provoked. So either I keep my mouth shut while people insult me, or I defend myself in the matter they do, and yet I am always the bad guy.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Dave's a guy. Who's been here for a while, but rarely posts.

The problem with you guys (it sounds like a bigger deal put that way than it really is) is that you seem to be provoked really easily and really often. And, because of a history of negativity, people don't respond well to your posts, no matter how civil.

For example, BloodRayn came back to the board after a long hiatus, and has brought nothing but negativity until a short while ago when he seemed to slow down a bit. However, everyone now knows that he's probably up to something, trying to get a rise out of everyone. That's why he gets negative responses to his posts.

Do I hear a "lock this thread" in the distance?

No, because then people would just bitch about us locking threads.

But what if you locked all the threads in which people bitch about thread-locking? Then you'd be invincible!

No, and if it is, I will fight until it's re-opened or until I am banned :mrgeen:

Look at it this way. I was saying nothing at all in this thread until Gail brings my name into her little rant and started yelling at me. I said nothing but "I want variety" and all of a sudden she comes out of nowhere and involves me in her tirade about rude fans. There was no reason for that to happen, and yet my name was dragged into her tirade, and I defended myself, and somehow, I became the problem.

I ask you people to stop giving Dan such a hard time, then my name gets thrown into the "problems of the board" discussion by Rob and Cass, and all I wanted was for people to lay off of him. Sure, he's said some things that were uncalled for, but nearly everything he says now, no matter how civil they are, he's met with resistance.

What it comes down to is, whatever I say on here, someone on this board will give me shit for it. I've been perfect today, and look at the responses I've been getting to what I say. I am brought into a fight I didn't try to involve myself in (except for the "lay off Dan" comments) and somehow, someone has a problem with what I say.

I've been here longer than most of the regular posters on this board, yet I am given the most shit for saying anything. I am a problem for having an opinion, wanting variety in music, and not liking Gravity. It was funny for a while, but now this anti-Alan sentiment from the board should die. If I tell you off, then by all means, please fight with me, I deserve it, but if I say something like, "I want OLP to rotate songs in their setlist," "Lay off Dan," or "I'm not the problem in this thread," that is directed to no one, back off. I've done nothing wrong.

We'd lock them, too. :P

As for doing nothing wrong... I don't like to bring up shit that's over with, but there was a recent fight between you and Cass that got really nasty. It's stuff like that that brings about negative responses.

As for Dan, look at his fucking sig and tell me that's not a direct attack.

I am not defending Dan right now. I said I know he can get harsh. That isn't the issue here.

And just to let you know, whenever Cass and I are online at the same time, we talk on AIM. We've gotten over it, why can't you?

Ugh. That's why I said I don't like to bring up shit that's over with. I was pointing out that you're not as perfect as you said.

I forgot, I am supposed to follow with a  if I make a joke. Come on, there's no ill will in what I said. But come on, the two people that bitched at each other for days are friends now, so how come you still want to hold that against me? (see, joke)
