they should get dan andriano from alkaline trio to replace him.

and then jeremy can take time off and derek grant can replace him.

then steve and raine can run away together and matt skiba will take over for both of them and our lady peace will once again be the best band ever!!!!!

BTW, the e-card is a great idea. Is anyone actually going through with this? I would help but I suck at making graphics (making any kind of art, actually).

About the E-card...

You'd have to regulate it really well to do it that way.

What I would do is have one person do the card, and have people upload a signature here. Just a standard size of whatever you want on a white background. Then they could be all put onto the bottom of the graphic, and somehow sent out.

that's a darn good idea. count me in!
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

isn't the whole reason why he left for "personal reasons" was to get away from the fans?

I think he wanted to separate his personal life from his fans.

Perhaps the next person to talk to him should just give him our congrats.

Yes, I suppose you're right. The next CMer who sees him should give him congrats on behalf of all of us though!

uh, i dont think this was to get away from the fans exactly, but to spend some time off with people he cares about. i remember when he was sick and people sent him cards he made sure to thank them. i dont think he'd mind this at all if it was done in good taste.

He's been on the road a lot too..........maybe he thought it was better to be a father and a husband than a musician for a little while.......plus I don't want my Duncan burning out.......or fading away.

I don't think this particular getaway is to get away from fans. But he's always kept his personal life, well, personal.

I really don't think he'd mind if we did the thing where we post what we wanna say on a thread in here, then one of us puts them into a card, and we just sent him *a* card. I think we should. It'd be a nice gesture.

But, like someone else said, we should probably confirm it before we do anything.

somebody check with Stace 'ur something and see if this whole card thing would be a good idea...

We don't want him to think we're freaks who can't let the guy have some time with his family  We get that type of lifestyle everyday....

yeah, if he did this to get some private time away from us all, lets leave him the fuck alone! but if he's just spending some quality life with his family, he would probably appreciate the gesture.

i wish i had known about this at s13, i would of brought a sign that said, "good luck" or something.
