Not exactly. I mean, it's not all directly from the book, just inspired by it. It's up for interpretation.

"The Shining" allowed him (and anyone else with it) to predict things, know the thoughts of others, etc.

However, it can be interpreted differently... An oracle can see into the future. The oracle eye in the song has been blinded by the fright. What it saw in the future caused such fear in it, that it was blinded.

I tried to leave most of the song up for interpretation.
