A song by me
That Which Was Forgotten
it’s that which was forgotten
pulsing, steaming, throbbing, bleeding
lurking in a scent so rotten
plotting, needing, waiting, dreaming
how can you hope to face it?
shine on, little boy
your oracle eye has been blinded by the fright
shine on, little boy
‘cause you’re gonna need help,
oh you’re gonna need help tonight
your savior’s not yet with you
hoping, pleading, longing, screaming
your strength is gone, beliefs askew
crying, seeing, fighting, fleeing
how can you hope to fake this?
shine on, little boy
your oracle eye has been blinded by the fright
shine on, little boy
‘cause you’re gonna need help,
oh you’re gonna need help…
tonight it’s back for one last round
you try to scream, but there’s no sound
you see him there, just out of reach
you shine to him but cannot breach
the shield that’s up, upon your mind
still he comes to you, just in time
to take you away from this bad dream
and all the things it came to mean
how did you ever face it?
where did you learn to fake it?
the fire burns and bakes it
flames engulf and embrace it
so shine on, little boy
your oracle eye has been blinded by the fright
shine on, little boy
‘cause you’re gonna need help,
oh you’re gonna need help…
to shine on, little boy
your oracle eye is back strong and burning bright
shine on, little boy
someone's gonna need your help
oh yeah they're gonna need your help
in this life

My second piece of poetic/song writing ever.
And if you can guess what it's based on/inspired by... you'll get a big cookie.

*bumps thread back to top of forum, hoping for comments*

I'm going to write music for this, and hopefully get recording equipment for my birthday. I know what it's going to sound like, I just need to transfer it from my mind to my guitar.
And I've changed a few lines slightly, but no big changes.
The verses are going to be a fairly simple 4am-ish guitar picking (maybe more like Not Enough, I'm not sure yet).
The pre-chorus is going to be slow and distorted.
The chorus is going to be heavier and distorted, but will also include a bit of picking.
The bridge (tonight it's back for one last round) will be like a muted distortion, getting heavier into the end.
The solo is going to go after the bridge.
The second little bridge thing will be heavy, then the first of the last choruses will be slow, getting heavy in the last two lines, going back to the normal chorus for the last one.
...if anyone cares.

!EMiLY!
sweet blasphemy my giving tree
it hasn't rained in years
i bring to you this sacrificial offering of virgin ears
leave it to me i remain free from all the comforts of home
and where that is i'm pleased as piss to say
i'll never really know
