What about ASAAG? Personally, BBTS and ASAAG are my favourites.

lyrics like that should have never left raine maida's mouth.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

heh, I guess I can see your point.

However, I really like the music in ASAAG. That makes it worth listening to for me.

I will agree that Gravity is lacking the whole "art" thing but a topic about which song is poppier? Are we that desperate for things to discuss?

Personally I think Life is an amazing song because I can relate to what the song is about .. as for Innocent .. again, I think it's a great song .. sure it's a bit cheesy with the kids singing but overall I think it's catchy, and though the message may not be as "deep" as it was in Life I think all songs carry some sort of message .. it's all in the person's interpretation that's all ..

Ever since Gravity has come out people have taken on a very negative view of OLP .. and that's sad :(

Ugh. My "humour" ( ) is wasted on you people.

I was saying that Jeff is the one with the negative comments, because he is... But... Well... It's too late to seem the least bit humourous now, so I'll just back out with what little dignity I have left.

Jeff is certainly not the only one with the negative comments unfortunately .. the majority of the comments on this board, especially surrounding the topic of Gravity are negative ..

OLPgeotomi wrote:What does it matter whether a song is "poppy"?? By your definition, it becomes detrimental to a song depending on how close it sounds to "popular music". Who CARES?!? If your judging whether the song is good or not, "poppiness" has NO place in the discussion. Hey, just because a song is popular and "mainstream" doesnt mean its bad! Heck, there are a lot of good pop tunes out there. But confusing whether something is "pop" or not with whether something is good or bad... I am SICK OF. So next time you or anyone come up with a thread like this, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

OK first off, please don't tell me to get my facts straight as if I know nothing about the band. Thanks. Secondly I never stated that I felt the songs were bad in any way, shape or form, and you can go through every thread in this place to find out I have never once said that pop sound equals bad music.
I just noticed how many people went off about the poppish nature of Innocent which made me wonder why no one ever said Life was popish as well, I was just determining the difference between th two and just thought it would make for good conversation.

Life and Innocent are both very good songs. Life came from a very "artsy" album, which makes me wonder if maybe had it of been on Gravity would we all have been in an uproar about it? Or what if it was vice versa, Innocent being on SM and being released...

The point is I was only making conversation, this board lacks good OLP conversation and I was merely giving us an outlet, notice how I put "debate" before the topic title?

Settle down people, some of you take things way out of context without even looking at what you're reading and in turn what you're writing.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

People are getting upset because there is no such thing as good olp conversation anymore .. at the mention of Gravity the terms "selling out" and many negative comments start .. it just stirs up arguements not good conversation :( People are bitter and whiney now about Gravity ... it's hopeless trying to have a good debate about it now ...

SM was pure genius ..

Bitching and whiney about how much it sucks is not a debate, it's your opinion you continuously bring up over and over at the mention of olp or gravity .. good debate and repetative complaining are 2 separate things ..
