I'm sick of the whole "teenybopper" thing. Why do we even care??? Sure, it's annoying at concerts, but is it going to change the band in any way? no.

Most of us began listening to OLP when we were younger. I started listening when I was 15...so I guess that made me a "teenybopper."

You never know, too. Some of the current "teenyboppers" may turn into real, dedicated fans.

OMG. I can't believe I din't think fo you

never mind the teeny bopper bullshit. never mind the opening for avril lavigne.

our lady peace made a record which conformed to all of the standard rules for pop-rock mega groups. this was a radical departure, to use their own words, from the our lady peace of past, who made records that were totally different from anything else on the market.

anyone who tells me they can't here nickelback playing "all for you" is full of shit. or lifehouse singing "story about a girl"? this record is one of a million mediocre pop-rock crapolations.

having said that, what reason would a band like our lady peace have for reducing the quality of their music to a point where 2 of the band members quit? fame and fortune, baby.

like jeff says. gravity sucks. it kills me to say it, but it does.

Oh please. Do you honestly believe that they don't care about making money? In the end, that's what everyone wants. Maybe they want fame and riches less than some bands, but that desire is still there. With Happiness and Spiritual Machines, they were absolutely brilliant records, don't you think they were disappointed when they only sold like 500,000 combined? That would be disappointing to me, because those records are pretty intimate if you ask me, and they're the least successful. Then for them to come out after those 2 and make something that puts them on MTV and all over Canada, they have a successful tour, only for their die-hard fans to come out and call them sell-outs? Jeeez. It's sad.

I guess my point is you have to be pretty naive to believe that they actually mean that they don't care one bit about making money. I think that to some extent they don't care about numbers or money, I think they just say it to make their fans feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and from what I see here, it seems to be working.

I think everybody just bitches too dang much......its OLP, so its not the SAME OLP but it's still the guys everybody has known and listened to over 'n over. And bitched about over 'n over again.
We would all do the same freakin thing as OLP has done if we wanted to keep bettering ourselves. Just only doing what a buncha people on the CM want, but what a more general audience wants as well.

For cryin out loud....this topic and the one about Avril sounds a lot like the crap that goes on in the CC.

first f all, OLP aside, a lot ofpeople sem to think the words "sell out" mean somebody has ganed popularity. it doesn't.
second misconseption: the word "teenybopper" maybe most people on hee are 14 or 15, but unless theygo around drooling over Raine(yes, i ralize we do that, but we are mostly just playing) and the ONLY reason they listen to OLP is because they are goodlooking. the girls with "raine, you're hot!" shirts would be considered teenyboppers.w hether they are 14 or 40.

Teenyboppers grow into hardcore fans .. some will die off and forget about olp, others will be fans for life .. I was a teenybopper .. started listening to OLP when I was 16 .. attracted to his voice, thought Raine was hot .. ended up loving the band .. I'm now 23 .. I like the band for the music and the lyrics and all that good stuff .. so basically, stop with the all the teenybopper crap .. boppers are here to stay and will attach themselves to EVERY band .. who cares

They need an anti-teenybopper. Like a senile old man who enjoys listening to OLP while taking out his teeth. Or adults trying to listen to what their kids are listening to to be more "with it". Then they can say funny phrases like, I like those Old Lady Pee boys, they still have their youth. The old woman can think Raine is hot, and it will be less offensive, because most elderly ladies think lots of younger men are handsome. Older people in general would make the whole teenybopper thing a lot more acceptable. Who's with me, all we need is a good size bus, some volunteers to kidnap our grandparents, and either OLP themselves or their cds handy. Oh, ever since the Elderboppers came along all those OLP sellout topics died. I can see it now.

I'm only 7 months away from being legal in Canada (that means 19 for you people that don't cross the boarder regularly)
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Guys a band that doesnt play for their fans are sell outs, does that aply to olp? fuck no, let me say that again, fuck no. They go far out to please their fans. And Gravity sucks? Fuck no, let me say that again, fuck no. Two maybe even three of my favorite songs are on Gravity, and none of there albums have the depth that Gravity does, (Yes innocent sucks) but they can counter the bad songs with All for you, Not Enough, Somewhere out there. IMO SM was the biggest let down, thats my least liked cd of theirs, its just not what i want to hear, and its more poppyish then Gravity. The concept that Gravity is the weaker cd just blows me away, you ask alot of olp fans and they will say the same, Gravity was there best release. This touring with avril? does it bother me, no, note that time i didnt say fuck. OLP wants more attention in europe and this is one way to do it. Remeber the tour there putting out here in Canada guys, You got Finger eleven who kicks ass and then you got the fucking trailer park boys, what the could be better. If Bubbles managed to get on stage with olp i would shit myself laughing, this is just such a good fucking tour it brings tears to my eyes. Plus olp are once again selling out big venue's which is always good to see. But they better fucking come to Halifax or ill go ape shit, christ trailer boys is filmed 5 minutes away from my house, bring em back home with yahh guys :/
