are there people worried about OLP "selling out"?

This is for you, this is for us...

It's pretty obvious on stage that Steve has amazing talent .. anyone who has actually seen Steve live will say that .. it doesn't make much sense for him to be amazing on stage and then suck in a studio .. it's usually the other way around .. so that's not the case

ok from now on I am not going into any threads that are about OLP selling out, them touring with Avril, all the anti-OLP stuff cuz it's just making me sad and it's making me not wanna come to the cm anymore. I think we should end this discussion and all other ones that are like this.

yeah. GOD FORBID we discuss our lady peace and events involving them.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

I saw Steve perform live...he's very talented...

Oh and Clumsyfish...that is the case. Just because he's amazing live doesnt mean he's amzing in the studio...None of us know how well he can write. Like I said before...we gotta wait till their next album comes out.

They wished us Happy Holidays on their website and have a live performance of Starseed. Hot damn that's the OLP I know. OLP are good guys, we will just blame Sony for now. OLP is trying to make everyone happy, they don't want to be sold out as much as we don't want them to be. I guess I have a spot for those Holiday Greetings, like the Grinch almost. :P

That might be the case for you, you might feel you have to wait, but I don't .. his talent is obvious to me already. He blew me away the first time I saw him, the 2nd time I saw him and the third time I saw him .. he's amazing, he's a guitar god .. I don't need to wait until the next album before Steve's talent is justified in my eyes .. he's already blown away any and all expectations I had ..

Ya know, just because the first four albums are absolutely amazing..that just kind of increases the odds that they were going to have a bad album sooner or later. Ya know what I mean? Personally, I think Gravity is good. Not amazing, not brilliant, not complete shit, just good. Plus, there are some people on here that really don't like some of the other four albums, but nobody says anything bad about that. I, personally, do not like Clumsy at all. There are two songs I can actually sit down and listen to on that album. Just because I'm not fond of that album doesn't mean I'm gonna say that they suck or whatever. Gravity just seems to get a lot of criticism because it's the most recent. Give it a few years, wait to see what the next album is like, and then make your decisions. Shouldn't the fact that they made 4 out of 5 brilliant albums be enough?

And to the person that said something like OLP shouldn't have younger girl fans..that's so stupid. I'm sorry, you can think whatever you want, but a fan is a fan and that's all there is to it. If they go out and buy the albums, that's what they wanted to accomplish and they got it done. Buh..

according to them, they're goal ISNT to sell records. they odnt care about that and thats not what its about. if it was all about selling records, they'd be a pretty shitty band and we'd never have happiness or SM, don't u think.

looking solely at gravity, the album, and not the tour or the other albums, they are a pretty shitty band

Allright time for me to add my two cents about this who "Sell out" controversy.

I had never herd this before gravity (or at least vary rarely) before gravity they spent days upons days in he studio perfecting thier songs. Years span between albums.

God forbid they try something different and just rock, don't try to perfect anything.
What if thier next album is an equivlent to Clumsy? Will they still be sell-outs?

Yes, I was a little confused by the short opening stint for Creed but hey whatever gets them out into the spotlight. It's worth a shot.

Maybe when I start seeing Raine wearing a fur coat, getting drunk, showing no more emotion at his shows, punching fans etc etc Then maybe I'll call him a sell-out but at least thank him for what he's done in the past.

But that's not going to happen.

Shut up about the sell-out crap and just frickin enjoy their kickass music!!

Later,

i find it funny that alot of people here complain about OLP's "teeny-bopper" following when most of you are what ? 14? 15?
