Raine in Detroit 3/29

The Canadian Raine tour seems to be sneaking over the border. Not sure what this means for American fans (full tour or just one date), but I work for the company, Live Nation, who's putting on this show.

Saturday, March 29
Saint Andrews Hall
Detroit, MI

They really didn't do that much to it. They just added a 3rd guitar line basically that's pretty much a solo over the top of everything. It sounded great, but it doesn't really change the song much. Maybe beefs it up a bit.

I agree with Kicker. GOOD show, not great. I nearly died after the State ...

I'm good at pissing off fans of bands regarding my thoughts on live shows, so here goes nothing.

First, the opening acts sucked. OLP hits sometimes (Greenwheel), but usually misses (Sheila Divine) when picking opening bands.

Second, the Royal Oak Music Theatre is my favorite large venue to ...

We're going to be collecting items and money for Katrina victims. The lineup of bands is amazing. If anyone feels like driving to Brighton, MI, it'll be well worth your trip. Mention you're from the CM, and we'll get you in for half ...

This album is freaking incredible, if you ask me. I listened to it twice, and after waiting for the thing to be released and not giving into the temptation of downloading it early, I'm feeling good about my decision. Wipe Your Smile is my favorite thus far, though I still seem to be singing Where ...

So.... I do post here every so often. However, as I was posting today in the Carnival Closed Down forum (which you should all check out, because I'm funny), I recognized this little award thingy. I did some research, and found out that apparently four months ago, I won a Lifetime Achievement award ...

I'd be happy with Car Crash or Middle of Yesterday or Automatic Flowers even. Out of Here is quite doubtful. A friend of mine and I were just commenting to each other that it's a shame that we'll never hear songs live again like Denied and Neon Crossing and stuff like that.

Got my Detroit tickets. I was happy to see they weren't on Ticketmaster, until I realized that I just paid $18.50 in service charges for two fucking tickets! I need to get into THAT business, where you can advertise something for $25 and sell it for almost $35. Lovely.

Anyway, I will be there to ...

Yeah, I'm totally going to be there. Royal Oak Music Theatre is probably the best mid-sized venue in the city. It's all general admission, and the sight lines are great. The sound is awesome. It's such a step up over the State Theatre if you ask me. I can't ask for a better freaking show. Hopefully ...

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've heard from any of you. About 3 years ago, I created the Our Lady Peace trading hub that has become a staple of the OLP community.

I've poured most of my efforts recently into creating a local music scene in my home county of Livingston County, Michigan ...

OK, clarification needed here. Why in God's name would anyone go to a concert 7 and 1/2 hours early? Or even 2 hours early? When you know that it is winter. Winter leads to cold. And snow. And both of those lead to frostbite. You paid money to watch Our Lady Peace put on a concert. Which they did ...

Good thing my topic turned into a bunch of stuff about tennis. Anyway, Big Rapids is a few hours north of Lansing, and they'd probably have a decent fan base up that way. That's the cool thing about OLP. They play shows in places that a lot of bands won't. And yes, Nickelback played Ferris last year ...
