Damn. Sometimes I really don't understand coaches, even if you did have a swearing problem. But if I practice a lot over this summer, I might have a wild shot at being on the Varsity team, even if I'm last doubles. I think quite a few seniors left this year. I just really have to work on my serve. I'm so used to having the "incorrect" grip, and I was pretty good with that serve. Now I have to loop and change my grip so it feels like I sprain my wrist.

Seriously, I can help you with your serve a lot. When I played, I was absolutely nothing physically. I had no muscle on me. Yet I was able to crank serves at 100MPH constantly, and I had a great kick serve to back me up. I can teach you the right form for serving, and you can really make an impact on your team. As long as you know how to return a serve, serve, and volley, you can be varsity doubles. By the way, where do you go to school?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Hmm. Lake Orion High School. And my volleys aren't the greatest. Sometimes I'll put them away really great, but most of the time I swing too much. It used to be that my backhand was stronger, but now I am finding that with my forehand I can get lower shots.

Well, the thing about volleying is, if you just put the ball back in the court, you'll be fine. As long as your partner closes to the net, and you keep getting the balls back in play, your opponents would have to hit an amazing lob to get past you, a passing shot at some amazing angle, or you will win the point due to their error. Don't try too hard when it comes to volleying. Just keep your arm stiff and don't swing with the volley, just step into it. If you do it correctly, you'll generate enough power to put the point away in a heartbeat.

It really isn't as easy as it sounds. :) Well, at least for someone who hasn't been playing for a year.

Like I said, just let me know when and where to hit, and I will spend some time working on your game with you. It's not a problem, I have plenty of free time, that is why I am always on here.

Thanks for the offer. But I don't know where, does Deer Lake rent courts to non-members? Because I am a member of Lifetime Fitness (you probably know where it is because of OU) but it's pretty expensive there.

Yeah, I know where Lifetime is. I am sure you can work on getting me in there to help you out with your game. If not, by my house there's a club that gives me free court time because of who I am.

It costs $20 per hour, plus an additional $20 for non-members, so it would end up being $40. Free indoor courts? Where is your house?

About 45 minutes from where you live. The courts are at Peachtree Racquet Club in Clinton Twp.

Never heard of it - obviously. But I will think about it, although my parents probably wouldn't be all too excited - considering my mom makes comments about people on the messageboard not being real... thanks again for the offer.

Good thing my topic turned into a bunch of stuff about tennis. Anyway, Big Rapids is a few hours north of Lansing, and they'd probably have a decent fan base up that way. That's the cool thing about OLP. They play shows in places that a lot of bands won't. And yes, Nickelback played Ferris last year, and the 3 Doors Down tour rolled through there this year. They get some good shows. I know you'd all love them to come to Detroit again, but they have to spread the wealth a little. Within 3 hours of my house, they've probably played ten shows in the past two years. That's amazing. Detroit, Grand Rapids, Toledo, Sarnia, Windsor, Cleveland, the acoustic show in Farmington.... they love to mix it up, and that's what makes them a great live band.

Didn't the fact that the show won't happen get answered in the first three or four posts anyway? Don't be so defensive about a thread, it's just text buddy.
