The Music - New album out soon!

Post by Axtech »

(can't find the old thread ... try searching for "the music" and getting anything useful)

The Music's new album, "Welcome To The North" is already out in the UK, and is coming out October 19th here.

I can't wait for this album. I heard the first single "Freedom Fighters" on the radio today. Unfortunately I was listening to a station from the states, and it wasn't coming in all that great, cutting out every now and then. But what I did hear was awesome.

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

Holy dood.

The album hasn't showed up in any stores around here just yet, but I downloaded the entire album off of soulseek tonight.

I'm not going to bother trying to communicate my love of what I've heard, just imagine the highest possible praise, superlative adjectives, and hyperbole right here and go get it yourself.

I'm going to wait for the 18th to get it / listen to it. Kind of like the good old days with GASG (Gravity Abstinence Support Group), except that this time what I finally hear will be good!

So, the album's been out for a while.

Let me once again pimp out this band to anyone who's never heard their joyous brand of smart pop rock.

DOWNLOAD:

Freedom Fighters
The People
Take The Long Road And Walk It
Cessation
Breakin

For starters.

Also: Rob, I'm assuming you've got the album by now, thoughts?

FYI, there's a secret track. Let the cd run, and you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

Whereby pleasantly surprised I mean "full body orgasm".

You remember GASG?!?!?

It will always hold a warm spot in my heart. It was begun by me and probably my step out of obscurity into the CM. Ironic how once the album actually came out i was mortified
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

"Hold on, hold on children, your mother and father are leaving, hold on, hold on children your best freind's parents are leaving, leaving,.......*AHHH*! " - Death From Above - Black History Month

Is there anything on the hub?
-Sarah

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Of course. What sort of music hoarder would I be if I didn't have it?

mp3s/The Music/Welcome To The North

And yes the hidden track owns.

They opened up for Incubus last nite at the concert I went to in Rochester. To be honest with you, I was expecting Sparta to be there, and I had no idea who they were. But wow, they were amazing. They have so much energy onstage and the drummer is absolutely amazing. They were like the first opener that I have seen that I actually didn't want to leave the stage.

I'm definitely going to buy some of their albums once I get some money.

Soo true.

He's the only drummer that's ever made me actually listen to the drum parts of a song.

Listen to IME, then too. Christian = the shit.

Still haven't gotten the album yet! :O I'd planned to go on Sunday, but I ended up talking to people on the hub all day instead. By the time I was about to leave, the mall was closed. :(
