E3 2009, your favourites?

Post by Lando »

Okay, so there have been a lot of announcements at this year's E3. For the gamers on this site, which announcement are you most excited about?
A few things come to mind, but to me, this looks like it will be the most fun.

The Last Guardian is totally a fanboy game. If you love Ico and Shadow of the Colossus like I do, then you'll really appreciate The Last Guardian. If not... well then a lot is probably lost on you, but it still looks cool I'd assume!

I don't know what to be excited about, yet. Project Natal for the Xbox looks pretty cool.

I'm going to buy myself a xbox when I'm in Toronto in August =)

If Project Natal is developed properly... I see it being pretty damn impressive. Peter Molenaux impressed me quite a bit with his Milo demonstration. I understand it was rough. Perhaps still generic, but I have no doubt in my mind that if anybody can take that ability and make it amazing it's him.

Johnny I'm not certain what you see that's so impressive about MAG. 256 people in one multiplayer match is overkill. That's just my opinion.

Of course the gameplay of Modern Warfare 2 looked awesome. That's a given.

I was impressed with the fact that we got to see more of Alan Wake. I'm highly excited to play that game. It looks like its gonna have a twisted/psycho tripping story line. Similar to Indigo Prophecy. (Which is one of the most underrated games I've ever played.)

Neil I agree with you about Indigo Prophecy, it got some good reviews but people didn't seem to pick it up.

I'm still looking forward to Assassins Creed 2, more so since watching this: http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6211356/?t ... play_btn;2

Diggin' Uncharted 2. It looks amazing, and bonus points to Elena being back with snappy one-liners.

"Hi, I'm Elena Fischer, last year's model."

MAG looks interesting if people on a team will actually cooperate and follow orders. The command system looks neat.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Heavy Rain. The concept is solid but some of the VA and graphics were pretty rough in places. Still, it's early. I just hope it doesn't completely fall apart at the end like Indigo Prophecy did (worst last 1/3rd of a game ever).

Hmm, what else.... Assassin's Creed 2 looks like an improvement but I'm going to wait and see if they can get rid of the boring, repetitive formula of the first and change the assassinations up (like Hitman)

ModNation Racers was an unexpected surprise but the customization tools look rad.

FF14 looks pretty. I'm going to wait and see how it plays, though. I don't want a grindy grindfest.

I'd have to agree with you on your assessment, though! I've never played it on a projector but I can definitely see it being scary.

If you can determine how to get a team of 128 people to work together on MAG I'll give you all the props in the world.

The only upside to 256 mo'fos in a match is that it shouldn't possibly be a team of nothing but campers. You'll just have pockets of campers and pockets of rushers. Have fun!

I play all my games on my projector and I've never found assassin's creed nor others to be scary. I do like playing COD4 on it though, who needs a scope when you can snipe people across the entire map with a pistol because the screen's so big you can see them!
