Jer called into Edge102.1 this morning

This morning I was waking up and heard some political ranting on the radio by the morning show guys from Edge 102.1 in Toronto. They are very uninformed and often their opinions are based on very little, yet they feel the need to talk about politics anyway. It’s extremely annoying. I hate the fact that some people’s political opinions could be swayed by these guys, and I would only hope that the average listener is smarter than that. Anyways, I left the radio on and jumped in the shower.

After my shower I walked back into my bedroom and heard one of the morning show guys mention Jeremy Taggart, so I turned up the volume. Turns out Jer had just called in and was waiting on the line.

(Side note: when I talked to Jer in Geneseo I asked why we hadn’t heard him on the morning show recently. He said those guys are really immature and their show is in such bad taste that he doesn’t want to be associated with it anymore. I agreed with him about the morning show, and we agreed that unfortunately it’s one of the only good radio stations in Toronto… that is, when they are playing music)

So now I’m listening to Jer on the air at 6:20ish in the morning, trying to figure out why he called in when he hates the show. They asked why he was calling… he said his woman is asleep, he’s awake, and he hates Todd so he thought he’d call in. Him and Todd have bantered back and forth for years, so they all laughed at this. He then asked Todd who he was dating now (running joke on the air) and Todd countered with “how’s your recent album doing”, in a sarcastic tone. Jer said it’s doing well, soon to be platinum, and they responded with “yeah, in Canada” (again sarcastic)

He said the election has bothering him and his feathers are ruffled (or something to that effect). My guess is he was bothered by the morning show’s stupid discussion of politics, as I was. He asked who they were voting for... they said it's personal and wouldn't answer. They asked him the same question... he said he can speak to today but he grew up poor so he was always an NDP kid (the party usually in favor of the most social programs, etc)

They said he must be drunk or on something to be calling in. He said no, “I’m straight as an arrow”, and they argued about that for a few minutes because there have been times he has called in drunk.

One of the guys mentioned he has a baby due soon. He said yes, due in March. Then he said “I’m spreading the seed, man.” :lol: He said the baby is a boy and his name will be John Ronald James Taggart (same initials as Jer - JRJT)

Okay that was long-winded, but I wanted to share.

Oh neat!

I'm sad to hear he won't be guesting on Dean Blundell anymore... that was always so unbelievably hilarious. But they are incredibly immature. I never enjoyed listening waiting for him to arrive.

Awwww I wonder where the name John comes from? Because Ronald is his Dad and James is his brother.

unfortunately my memory can't take any credit. I jotted down a couple of things on a post-it note and stuck it in my purse because I knew it would be 2 hours between hearing it and being able to post about it :lol:

All they are is a couple of guys having fun on the radio, I think they're friggen hilarious...and no other morning show is nearly as good....and I also don't find them immature, nor offensive..

haha, I missed that part. I only listen to the radio between 6 and 7am, so that's when I hear parts of the morning show. After that the radio is off all day.
