General Music area.
Did punk rock get it right?

Did it sell out or something? Dec. 4 is the show here. Must get tickets.

Sigh, I'm going to go broke on tickets. I guess I'll just not move out and then I can go to all the concerts I want!

Well, the concert was great. The people were horrible.

They played This Is Getting Over You for me, which made my lifetime. Here's what Matt said: "We're going to play an old song now, it's called This Is Getting Over You. This is for you." He looked at me and smiled when he said that. He also humped his guitar at my face during a few solos. I love this guy. He's so much fun it's insane. They played mostly newer stuff though. I did get to hear Keep Em Coming, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, This Is Getting Over You, Queen Of Pain, and Bloodied Up, so I was giddy. I, however, passed out from the lack of oxygen and the cracking of ribs right before the encore. I missed Blue In The Face, which really fucking pissed me off. I was supposed to go to the hospital, but Mr. Alan here doesn't have insurance, so I just went into a bar where Matt was and talked to him. He's the nicest man ever.

And apparently I was thrown on someone's shoulder and carried out to an emergency medical room somewhere by the State Theater. Fun shit.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Yes to 5-3, 10-4, and Trucks and Trains, and no to Radio. No Bleeder. I will live. But seriously, if you want Queen of Pain, ask Matt to play it before the show. They will do it, and say the song is for you with a huge smile on their faces. It's really cool.

And no, I'm not really alright. My entire chest is bruised. It is pretty ugly looking.

They really did play a song for me, I swear it. Matt and I talked about it after the show. He said he was excited to see me up in the front. I mean, why would he be excited to see me? I told him that I was up in the front because I got to the venue at 10:30, looked shocked, and hugged me. He is so not meant to be a rock star. He is meant to be a friend of all of his fans, not a fucking rock star. Those fucking teenie boppers will never understand this man, and it makes me sick. He is such an awesome person, and all I hear is how hot he is from girls that waited with me by the bus. That pisses me off. Respect the music, respect the man, but don't respect the looks. There's so much more to him.

Alan, that really is awesome that they played the song for you and i believe it because i know the way Matt is, he respects his fans so much. You’re so right he's not a rock star type, he's so incredibly friendly and talks to his fans like they're his friends. I’ve never met any rock star who was like that. when i met them last may it was a meet and great but it was the furthest thing from a meet and great. it was more like a bunch of people just hanging out. I respect matt so much for that. he's an amazing guy.

Matt is honestly the nicest person I know, and that is shitty, because a rockstar is nicer than all my friends.

The guy seriously cares about everyone. He seems more interested in how everyone feels before he thinks of himself. I mean, honestly, he left the bar and his drinks behind to talk to some people that waited for him at his bus. Now how sweet is that? He was with his friends from Detroit having a drink, and he put them on hold to say hello to some people that just wanted to tell him how much he means to them. That isn't what a rockstar is supposed to do.

He is so fucking intelligent it's amazing. It really is. I have such intelligent conversations with the man when I see him. He always has feedback and always seems like he wants to be there talking to you. It's honestly shocking.

Dan and Derek are the same, but they were busy. Derek was with family. And as Matt said, Dan was at "The Ramada Inn fucking his wife." Dan's wife is so cute. And Derek's girlfriend is too. They rock.
