I just hope this is some sort of a one time thing. I cannot see this taking too much space of the future. Raine should make more songs with his band and all instead of producing these type of artists. :(

Ok, I've been rather quiet about how long it's taking them to release thier new album so just deal with me while I vent for a moment

It's just really pissing me off that OLP keep pushing back thier fans to do all these side projects for others. I mean come on there's tons of people that can write songs for Kelly Clarkson, hell make her write her own songs if she wants to be a musician.

Not only is Raine writting songs for her, but he's also doing the same for Avril and helping produce them as well.

So why do the OLP fans keep getting pushed back? why do we have to wait 2 years for a new album so that Kelly Clarkson and Avril can have music for their 12 year old fans.

I guess I'm just irritated of waiting for a new album, I love the band, I love their music, but i'm just anxious to hear something about the band other than them making music for other people.

It's uh called Velvet revolver. Same band new singer pretty much.

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

Personally I think everyone should just STFU and let him work with whoever he wants. It's his business away from OLP..........if there new CD is poppy or whatever than criticize it....but hot damn, if it's in his spare time why should anyone criticize him when he's trying to make a name for himself as a producer. I say congratulations........

yeah i've never heard someone say "it's been my dream to work with kelly clarkson, her songs really inspired me growing up".

it's about money and perhaps some practice as a producer, i mean, it's important to start with shit that doesn't really matter if you fuck it up ya know?

Not to mention, Guns without Axl... just isn't the same. I don't like Velvet Revolver at all. They're lacking the songwriting and... complexity and... lushness that Guns had.

I've never been a big fan of Scott Weiland's voice... or his songs for that matter, so I guess that might be part of why I don't like them.

oops
did i do that?!
:nana:
oh
my bad :spam:

heh
seriously though
as "other matt" sorta mentioned indirectly..

this is raine maida working with _____________
not olp working with or anything to do with the band and therefore should not be much concern unless they start sounding like that (which i dont think will happen )

oh and
so thats who that singer is!
scott weiland!
from stoned temple plilots!
cept i thought he died... or was in jail.. .. not alive.. and singing.. ah well

and finally sonya:
linkin park will have 2 such albums
re-animation was a collaboration with quite a few folks
and collision course is with jayz

oh and that wasnt final cause i said so
its hard to say jonny
i see it this way.. either duncan and raine realize how much they enjoy being around their kids and realize they dont want to miss the big events and dont want to "lose out" on raising them and break up and this is indeed the last album (a distinct possibility) or they continue.. i think they will continue but given the young uns i could see it going either way
go fuck yourself.

They should do what Eddie Van Halen is doing, when their kids are old enough, like 13-14, have them play on stage with them!

Or they should enter their kids in Canadian Idol and then produce for them...

Ya I think working with kelly Clarkson is also a way of making a name for himself. He can add Kelly and Avril to his producing resume. If anything it's very smart. Screw the fans (and I'm serious, they owe us nothing, it's our choice to like them), and think about your own future.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Why?

He's producing with major music stars....he's gaining credibility as a producer..........this has nothing to do with Our Lady Peace. Hmmm, what's next, people will criticize him for delaying the album because he wants to work with war child, or see his wife and kid and be part of his life. Its ridiculous. I'm not saying people are saying that, but some "fans" are just greedy teeny boppers without regard for their lives.

I just don't understand people. Not liking OLP's new music is one thing, but bashing Raine because of which artists he is getting into producing for is simply ridiculous.

Losing credibility? Huh? He's out making a name for himself in the producing biz and getting some work.

I mean, many people on here would like to see OLP go back to work with Lanni, but doesn't Lanni produce some shitty band named "Simple Plan"?

Does this still ruin a guy like Lanni's abilities/name?

Perhaps not the best example, but I was trying to tie it to OLP somehow.

Man, I wish he'd produce something I had some sort of inclination to listen to.
