Now that I've actually heard more new stuff, I think this album will turn out ok. Especially if they lean towards the no warning, walking in circles, and talk is cheap sound. I feel like if there's more of that and less not afraid and WTSOYF, then I'll be satisfied.

Not trying to start anything, but what's the beef with Not Afraid? I think it's a great song.

I personally don't like it. I find the main riff annoying, the chorus boring (for example, the guitar in the chorus is painfully simple), and the bridge matches the main riff in the annoying department.

Plus, the song's about touring. How creative.

1 = terrible
10 = great

Not Afraid = 8
WTSOYF = 7
WIC = 7
No Warning = 6
Talk Is Cheap = 8

Just my opinion. I really really want a studio version of Talk Is Cheap, I will be very happy if that's on the cd.

Definately. Gravity was a huge dissapointment. At least some of the new stuff sounds like it has the potential to kick it up a notch.

Indeed. And I hope that they polished and fancied up what we've heard from the bootlegs.

Clumsy is probably their second worst record IMO.

It has some great songs like Superman's Dead, Clumsy, 4AM, and a few unique yet strangely satisfying ones (Carnival and Big Dumb Ass)

But there are some bad songs on the back.......Hello Oskar, Let You Down, and Shaking just aren't their best material. They go from being quirky and excellent to "annoying clown music". Car Crash and Story of 110 aisles are decent though. Its a good if not entirely consistent effort.

I'd give it an 7.5.

Happiness is 8.5

Spiritual Machines- 9

Naveed- 8.5

Gravity- 7

New stuff- 7.5-8 It sounds like they have some more energy and swagger without abandoning the "simple is good" approach which appears to work far better here. Of course, all of this is based on me guessing that they did polish up the songs with some good production.

I really think this album could be the accessible yet well crafted album they've been looking for. I think this one is what Gravity should have been.

well personally I think Happiness is their best album. SM and Clumsy are a tie for second. SM has a couple songs on it that just aren't appealing at all. I guarentee that if Life was on Gravity everyone would be bashing the hell out of it.

One thing that I absolutely love about Life is the use of cymbals. Also, the guitar is actually good.
