Probably a fairly common answer for this album: 4am, hands down. Still my favorite song. I bought the hand written lyrics from Pledge. Growing up in North Carolina, it was the second OLP song I ever heard (behind Superman's Dead) and it changed my musical life
I love the whole album, would sit and listen to it on repeat in high school.

This, except change the locale to British Columbia. Actually I thought 4am might have a bigger lead, but I don't blame people for choosing other tracks. I picked Carnival. This album doesn't always take itself too seriously which I love. Carnival and Automatic Flowers are at the forefront of that for me but Carnival takes it as it was the first OLP song I fell in love with.

Went with Superman's Dead. For me, it's OLP's iconic song.

Yeah, I expect a lot of songs to get votes here, but I did think 4am might have a bigger lead. It was played a lot back in the day, and they almost always play it for their live shows, so there could be some saturation too. So many big hits on this album, plus iconic songs like Car Crash, makes it a tough vote for sure!astute_99 wrote:This, except change the locale to British Columbia. I went with Car Crash. The vocal work on that song is superb. Hearing it live at their "Evening With" shows was one of the highlights of my life.

Re: Ranked: Clumsy
Hello Oscar is profoundly underrated IMO. I've heard Raine burry it a couple times. Man when I was in high school, I identified with that song lyrically on levels that no one will understand, and in some ways unparalleled by any other song in history of songs. The music is also timeless and cool, I love the dips and the drops. Anyway, I think I'm alone on this cross, but I'll die on it. GREAT TRACK!
Re: Ranked: Clumsy
Same. The gist seems to be that the band felt required to put harder tracks on the song to not alienate their Naveed sound too much. I can understand how that creates some negative feeling because your picking tracks based on their style and fan expection, not based on whether you like them best or not. Regardless, I think it's one of their best songs. I guess fan appeasements have their benefits.
