I also prefer the final lyrics, but still I find the alternate lines in the demo to be... oddly charming?

Oh! Also! "And if you were to stay would you feed them this white happiness." That. That is still rice pudding. You're welcome.

I love Clumsy AND Happiness how they are - but absolutely, this release makes you listen to the album all over again, wondering what other aces are up their sleeves.

I felt like a 16 year old today ...playing it over...and over.. 8-)

I have heard this too. I don't really understand their disdain for the song. I've always really liked the album version. The bass has a lot of drive, and Raine's vocals are really awesome on it (love the vocal solo/fills stuff).

My only guess is that, as the band evolved, they were worried they HAD to have some harder tracks because of the foundation they created in Clumsy and Naveed (both harder albums that Happiness), and that Consequences was added out of a sense of obligation to provide fans with a harder sound that they'd be expecting do to previous work.

Just a guess.

I always thought the same thing about Monkey Brains on Burn Burn.

Monkey Brains always felt too harsh/odd for me ( Minus the vocals when it slows down, of course ) and was the track I often skipped when playing the album. It took me seeing it live to really warm up to the sound. Steve & Duncan kill their guitars on the track, but it still is one of my lesser picks.

Is anyone able to help me get Not Afraid and Summertime Sadness from these emails? My wife didn't save them properly and she's pretty bummed out and refuses to believe I can find them for her... I'd like to surprise her with the help of you folk :)

On a side note...this is the first song that in terms of bitrate it's on good quality (256 kbps...the others were on 160 kbps, i know that bitrate it's not the unique thing about sound quality)...however in these days i listen to the song something like 10 times per day...really amazing...can't wait for the things that will come!

I noticed that as well. The first 3 were also a 48kHz sample rate, which is unusual (audio CDs and, thus, the "standard" for digital music is 44.1kHz).

Okay I'm going prefix this post by saying I like carnival just fine.

However, because both songs have a similar feel and tempo, I get the feeling both couldn't be on the album so it was bumped in favor of carnival.

I'm just saying Clumsy probably would have been better with this song. And I actually like it better than consequence of laughing...... Even the crackers and pudding bit.

I like the chorus better in Immune and the fact that the guitar does something not totally lackluster is great too. That's pretty much it though. Consequence of Laughing is still better.

It's a demo that, without saying, cannot hold a candle to Carnival or even Clumsy's worst.

Idk. I mean it definitely doesn't hold a candle to Carnival but if developed more in this form it could've potentially been better something like say, Shaking.
