did you guys see the other day Steve wrote that they broke out an old song that has never been played live while he was in band.. SO you think has to be something off Naveed-Happiness.. I tweeted back BLISTER but I bet it was something like Stealing Babies. I know alot of people wanted to hear that one. Not many songs from the first few cd's Steve had not played on now. Only a few from Naveed- Dirty Walls, Is It Safe( though that song never done live), Under Zenith and Maybe Julia. Though can't remember cause I think I read it was done somewhere once when he was in band.

which brings us to Happiness. This is where I think he might of been talking about. With exception on OMA, IAH, and Thief and Potato Girl pretty much all the other songs have not been done since that cd came out.. Would be cool to see that though..

I am holding on to Blister though Stealing Babies is close second. That was always one of my favorite songs they did live. So much better then on cd and I can only imagine what Steve would bring to that song guitar wise

Couldn't have been Stealing Babies since they performed it at a few times on the Gravity tour.

If we're talking album material, it''s gotta be something from this list:
Dirty Walls, Is It Safe, Julia (they've soundchecked it though), Under Zenith, Happiness & the Fish, Blister, Lying Awake, Annie, Consequence of Laughing

Depending how you think about it, these may also be considered old songs that they haven't performed since he's been with the band.
Sell My Soul, Sorry (they soundchecked that one), Don't Stop, Refuge, Never Get Over You, Signs of Life

god that's exciting, i am dying to hear ANY of those live. also, speaking of album material, i really hope they play at least one b-side like "trapeze", "ordinary", "vampires", "tales" etc.

I dont wanna get tix if there is a closer gig to me I've only seen them once and flew from the uk to niagara usa for that so thought i'd try to save a few miles this time! ;)
cheers

Seconding the request for any info on other UK shows. I just can't afford to go to London right now, but I'm dying to see them, so I'll be gutted if that's the only show they play. :uhh:

So excited that they're coming to the UK, so gutted that it's London; I just can't get there. Any more dates would be fantastic

Haha. I was thinking that too. There are songs off Gravity. HIPT and Burn Burn not done live..

When did they do Stealing Babies? I never heard of that being done or at least any shows I went to.. I thought Julia was in soundcheck but wasn't sure..

They played it a handful of times on the last leg of US headlining dates in 2002 (11/21 - 12/4). That was the last time they went through Oregon, and we got Stealing Babies, The Wonderful Future, and the actual first performance of Our Time Is Fading all together in one show. Wish that I had taping gear back then.

Honestly it wasn't the best version of Stealing Babies, the ending section was too short and clean. I'm sure these days Steve wouldn't let that happen if they play it again though.

Ok.. Was not aware of that. I saw them in UK just before those shows. I think we were actually talking about that song with both Steve and Mike E.. Thanks for clearing that up.

Our Time Is Fading. I totally forgot about that song..

OLP on Q right now... CBC Radio One. Prerecorded from earlier this week... Currently playing Heavyweight in the style we saw in rehearsals for the NYE show... Sounds amazing. Karen Graves on violin.

Incredible version of Heavyweight- Raine's vocals are some of the best in a decade. I remember watching the little acoustic New Year's Eve version and loving that; didn't expect the full version to be this good.

They should release an acoustic version to radio in a few months, similar to what other bands have done.
