Raine's vocals are great... the whole song just flows in a way that I haven't heard from them before. Sonically, it's an adventure!

Sounds strange but Raine isn't in the song THAT much. It's a decent performance from Raine but nothing out of the ordinary vocally about it. It's all about Steve on this one.

Ya, agree with you there...vocals are nice, but definitely they aren't the focus of the song (which is frankly a relief to me, they've relied on vocal too often in the past). If you've got a great guitar player, show him off!!

Well it goes without saying that Heavyweight and FITHH will have some oomph to them, but not sure about the other tracks. Depends on what your definition of "energy" is...because Rabbits has some really energy to it.

@OLPManiac...not sure if there is that part exactly as in the youtube clip, but the melody is virtually the same, you can expect something very similar. I would have to listen again to know for sure. :)

From what we've heard so far, I'd say it has a pretty good mix of heavy and soft.

Allowance, FITHH, Heavyweight are all energetic songs.
Find Our Way definitely picks up toward the end of the clip as well.

Rabbits is definitely the mellowest of the bunch... love the filter on Raine's voice "Lost at sea, the holes we dig, to survive..."

darnnn, missed it again!

Can't wait to hear the full thing though. This was one of my favs since the beginning of those studio clips =). Steve's guitar work sounds really sounds like it's gonna shine on this track

Won't say anything about Rabbits... as I've bitched about every clips so far, and then come back to find that they grow on me after a while.

Interesting parallel to radiohead for me. Radiohead is one of my favorite bands, and I've never cared for any of their albums on the first listen through... Usually takes me that third listen for it to really click. I felt that a few of the studio demos had radiohead vibes to them... and so far, ive not cared for any of the 30 second cd demos until i gave them a handful of tries. Having a feeling this album is going to be really good. Just will take a while to sync my brain with it.

I agree with you there. As Trusty confirmed before, the key to "getting" this album will be to look at it from a different perspective. Don't come in with any preconceived perceptions, just press play and enjoy :)

Yeah... while I love me my old OLP... if this band ends up going off in a radiohead/floyd direction... well... that could be some real powerful stuff. I just have to wait and see how curve goes. But if this goes how Its leading up to be, the next 10 years will be significantly more amazing then the last. Start strong, end strong.

Holy shit. Rabbits seems pretty impressive from that clip. A genuine wave of excitement. Looking forward to hearing that one in full.

I think this CD will be unreal, I'm already expecting it to be one of those mind melting kind of cds, and not the typical sing along types.

Man, Rabbits got uploaded/taken down in the time it took me to walk about 20 minutes or so home from uni. Darn it.

Now, this clip is really nice, I like it.

Still hoping for at least another track with real oomph in it though.

Really, really hope that this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Vc3rRO3XYo is on the album, somewhere, somehow.

Also, chomping at the bit about the OLP t shirt design competition - I'm studying Illustration at uni, and this would be a dream job!!!

At first I was worried that we wouldn't get enough hard rockers on this record. A few days ago I'd probably say the same. But for some reason, today, these clips are really starting to click. I'm digging everything I hear. At this rate, I couldn't give a shit about loud and hard. These clips, while only 30 seconds, are crazy creative. Full of raw, authentic, and beautifully crafted pieces of art.

Burn Burn was a straight forward, mainly mellow, rock album. I was more or less kind of bummed with it once we got our first clips of it. I accept that.
But Curve is shaping up to be something you'll have to sit there and think about everything for a good while before you even replay the damn thing. It's an amazing concept, and I'm glad I'm getting to experience actual excitement for music again.

I was one of the fortunate few to get to listen to the song in full and I can say it's just as good as heavyweight if not better
