Ugh, the smoke's been so terrible. My dog hasn't even wanted to go outside. At least it rained here today, so the air's a bit clearer.

Just a brief update before I crash. Heather was put in the hospital on Wednesday night for extremely high blood pressure, which has stabilized. We expected her to be released this morning. However, she has an extremely high amount of protein in her urine, which is a very negative sign. Physically, she is fine. Physically the baby is fine. Unfortunately, the high protein could become poisonous to both her and the baby. This means the baby could be delivered by c-section as early as within the next 5-7 days. The doctor has ordered her to remain in the hospital until the baby is delivered. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers. If you feel compelled to send messages, please don't text or call on the phone, as both of us are trying to get as much rest as we can. However, feel free to burn up emails and facebook. Have a good day...y'all.

Good luck Heather and Matt! I am sure all will work out well for you guys (even though it is very stressful). I too suffered from pre-eclampsia and the good news is that when that baby is born everyone will get better. Best wishes.

Matt I had a friend this happned to.. She was due mid Jan and they performed a C-Section in Early Nov( almost 3 months early). Her son was barely over a pound. He was so tiny and so fragile. He spent months in the hospital.. it was scary wo see one so tiny and wonder if they will pull through. Well let me tell you the moral of this.her son is now a healthy , active normal almost 9 year old boy. 9 years ago. Imagine how much has been done with premies since then. You are both in my prayers but as long as the baby is under good doctor care and you and Heather follow through there is absolutely no reason why your baby will not be a healthy, happy child.. BIG HUGS to you both.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Breast feeding does wonders. Lily has grown from underweight to overweight for her age in scant 5 months.

Good luck guys, hope everything is fine.

Unrelated, but some friends and I had the cops called on us tonight for "scaring ducks!" Our school does a parody version of ESPN's Gameday, which me and my friends are in charge of, and some woman called the cops on us. Apparently when we were across the park, the woman opened my buddy's car up and popped the trunk, because when we came back over the door was open and the trunk was cracked.. Plus she was calling the police and giving his license plate.

The cop was really chill about it, but luckily we kept the camera running while the cop was there. Good stuff.

Matt update from Twitter earlier:

"No baby today. Heathers blood platelets are up, so baby can cook another day"

Good for baby but poor Matt and Heather. It must be so stressful and exhausting to wait.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

Thanks, everyone!

Stopping in the house for a moment to get a shower and clean clothes. Heather should be released from the hospital this evening, or tomorrow morning, just depending on how well she is able to move around today. Owen was delivered by C-section, and Heather has not been out of the bed yet, so she is sore and her muscles are a little weak. Otherwise, she is good.

Owen is still at Children's Hospital in Knoxville. His breathing has greatly improved, and we are hoping it improves to the point he can bottle or breast feed soon. Right now he has an IV for fluids, and a feeding tube through his nose to his stomach where he gets a small dose of formula every three hours. He was very excited to get the tube and let the entire NICU know about it...at the expense of hearing in my right ear. For the most part, though, he is doing really well. Handsome kid with big hands, big feet, and long legs. I look forward to being able to bring him home.

Again, thanks for all the congratulations here, and on Facebook. Hopefully in the next week I'll have everyone home and get back into the swing of things here.

Matt, I'm so happy for you and it's great to know that Heather is doing well too. Sounds like he's got some good lungs!
